This is the last Will and
Testament of me Gustavus Walter William Robinson of
71 Conway Road Luton in the
County of Bedford Straw Hat Manufacturer
First I direct payment of
all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses
I appoint Frederick Foster
of Biscot Road Luton aforesaid and Sidney George Parker of Dunstable
Road Luton aforesaid (hereinafter called “my trustees) to be the
EXECUTORS and trustees of this my will to each of whom I give the
legacy of fifty pounds free of duty in the event of their acting in
the trusts hereof I give to each of my four children the sum of
one thousand pounds I give to my wife Minnie Robinson all moneys in
the Bank all my life policies and all my furniture plate linen
silver china pictures books jewellery and all other my household
effects absolutely I direct that my motor car and all its
appurtenances be sold the proceeds thereof to fall into and form
part of my residuary estate I give to each of them my father
Gustavus David Robinson and my mother Polly Robinson the sum of one
hundred pounds (free of duty) and in the event of either of them
predeceasing me then the legacy given to the one so dying shall pass
to and vest in the survivor to whom I give the same accordingly
Provided always that should my said father and mother both
predecease me then I give the sum of two hundred pounds (free of
duty) to my nephews Walter Robinson and Stuart Robinson and to my
niece Ivy Robinson to be divided equally between them Whereas by
my partnership agreement with Albert Robinson dated the twenty ninth
day of October one thousand nine hundred and fifteen and in the
events which have happened I am seized of or entitled to one half of
the real estate forming part of the partnership assets now I hereby
give devise and bequeath all the residue of my estate both real and
personal over which I have or may have any power of testamentary
disposition whosesoever and whatsoever including all my interest in
the said partnership business and in the real estate belonging to
the partnership subject to any mortgage or share of mortgage to my
trustees Upon trust to hold the same for the use and benefit of my
said wife for and during her life provided she remain my widow and
unmarried and from and after the decease or remarriage of my said
wife which shall first happen then upon trust for all my children
who being sons attain the age of twenty one years or being daughters
attain that age or marry under that age in equal shares as tenants
in common and if there shall be only one such child the whole to be
in trust for that child provided always that if any child of mine
shall die in my lifetime leaving a child or children living at my
decease then the last mentioned child or children shall take (and if
more than one equally between them) all the interests which his her
or their parent would have taken under this my will had such parent
survived me and attained the age of twenty one years And I hereby
authorise my trustees to invest any moneys or allow any moneys to
remain in the business of “A & O Robinson” (whether the same has
been turned into a Limited Company or not) at such percentage as my
trustees may from time to time agree to accept And revoking all
others I declare this to be my last and only surviving will IN
WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty sixth day of
October one thousand and nine hundred and twenty two - GUSTAVUS
WALTER WILLIAM ROBINSON - signed by the testator the said Gustavus
Walter William Robinson as and for his last will and testament in
the presence of us both present at the same time who at his request
in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto
