The Will of Joseph Roberts

 

In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Roberts of the Parish of Clodock in the County of Hereford being sick and weak of body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say I give and devise unto my Nephew John Roberts Son of my late Brother Philip Roberts deceased all that freehold Messuage Tenement and Lands which I now occupy and enjoy on this condition that the said John Roberts will not have or suffer his Mother Ann Roberts to inhabit or dwell in the same Tenement or occupy any part of the said Premises to him when he attains the age of twenty five years and if the said John Roberts should die before he attains the age of twenty five years I give and devise the same unto John Roberts the Son of my Brother in Law William Roberts upon the same conditions as above mentioned and at the same age of twenty five years I give and bequeath unto Richard Juff the Sum of Sixty and Six pounds to be Paid in the space of twelve months after my decease I give and bequeath unto James Birrington the Sum of Sixty and Six pounds to be Paid in the space of twelve months after my decease I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Gwyn the Sum of Ten Pounds all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Personal Estate and Effects I give and bequeath to William Roberts whom I constitute and appoint to be my sole Executor and Trustee of this my last Will and Testament upon those conditions that he the said William Roberts shall and will let and Rent out the aforesaid Devised Lands Tenements and the Rents arising therefrom to be put out to bear Interest and such money due for Rents until the said John Roberts attain to the age of twenty five years to be paid to and between the three Sisters of the said John Roberts Mary Elizabeth and Blanch Roberts and my Will and desire is that all the money arising from the Property after paying my funeral expences may be equally divided between the surviving Children of the said William Roberts In Testimony thereof I this second day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty one set my hand and seal in the presence of the Witnesses hereunto Signed Joseph Ronerts
