In the Name of God Amen I HENRY RIDER of
Mabgate in Leeds mainridinge in the County of Yorke clothier well
considering the uncertainty of this transitory life and therefore
being desirous to settle order and dispose of all such estate as
well reall and personal els itt hath pleased the Allmighty god to
bestow on me To the end the same may bee accordingly held and
enjoyed after my decease And being some what sick in body but of
good sound perfect and dispossing mind and memorie praysed be god
for the same doth make this my last will and testament first I
committ my soule to Almighty god my maker who gave itt hopeing and
stedfastly beliveing to obtaine full and free remission of all my
sinns Through the onely merritts death and passion of Jesus Crist my
Saviour and redeemer And my body I committ to the earth from whenc
itt came to be interred in such decent and Christian like manner as
to my executors herein after named Shall be thought to meet and
conevenient and suitable to my quality and as touching my estate as
aforesayd I doe give devise bequeath and dispose thereof in manner
and Forme Following
That is to Say First I doe give and devise
unto my loving brother FRANCIS RIDER all my wearing Woolling clothes
and all such moneyes as is oweing unto me in the dayles by HENRY
WRAY and LEONARD WRAYE Item I give and bequeath unto NATHANIELL and
JANE RIDER children of my brother FRANCIS RIDER each of them tenn
shillings when they come tot he age of one and twenty yeares and if
eyther of them dye before hee or shee come to the age them my will
is that itt shall goe to the survivor of them. All the rest and
remainder of my effects I doe here by give and bequeath unto my
fower [4] children NATHAN DANIEL JONATHAN and MARY RIDER to be
educated and brought up with all as providenty as in my executors
and his assisstance here after named shall be thought meet and
conveinant And my executors and assistance to pay twelve pence att
?per...? interest for soe much moneys as lyes in their hands from
six monthes or twelve monthes as soe itt can be lett forth or
continued in their hands and the remaining part of my Estate after
my children come of age my will and mind is shall be equally divided
amongst my children att their respective ages And if any of my
children dye before they come to age Then my will and minde is that
the persons or parties of such children soe dying shall goe to the
surviveing Children And if the surviveingeChild or Children Dye
before they come of age then my will and minde is and I doe hereby
give and bequeath all the remainder of the moneyes due to my
children (that is to say) A moyty -[ moiety i.e. one of two parts] I
give and bequeath unto FRANCIS RIDER my Brother and his children the
other moytye I give and bequeath unto ROBERT RIDER my executor and
ROBERT RIDER my Father and THOMAS JACKSON ther executors and assigns
equally to be devided after the decease of all my children And I doe
desire and nominate my Loveing Cosen ROBERT RIDER be executor of
this my last will and testament And that hee shall see my debts and
Funeral expences be payd and discharged out of my estate And I
desire my Loveing Father ROBERT RIDER and THOMAS JACKSON to be
supervisors of this my last wil and Testament And to see the same be
performed according as I hope here intended In Witness whereof that
this is my Last will and Testament I have hereunto sett my hand and
seale this 30 Day October 1686
