I FRANCIS RIDER of the parish of Aisgarth and
county of York Blacksmith do hereby make my last will and testament
in manner and form following , that is to say, I hereby revoke and
make void all former will and wills by me made and as for and
concerning my worldly affairs I dispose of as follows first ordering
all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences to be discharged by my
executors hereafter mentioned -
To FRANCIS RIDER of Thoralby in the parish and
County aforesaid Blacksmith my father, GEORGE RIDER of Newbiggin in
the said parish and county my Uncle, and JAMES MOODY of Burton in
the parrish and county aforesaid Witesmith, my Brother in Law, I
give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estates whatsoever
To Hold the same unto the said FRANCIS RIDER, GEORGE RIDER and JAMES
MOODY their heirs and executors ... upon the Trusts and for the
purpoeses herinafter expressed, that is to say, upon Trust that my
said Trustees shall pay to my dearly beloved Wife the yearly rent of
my Close called Banks situate and lying and being within the
precincts and territories of Newbiggin aforesaid Together also with
the Interest ariseing from the sum of £40 Together also with the use
of some parts of my household furniture for the Term of her Natural
Life or as long as she shall continue my Widdow which shall first
determine Provided always that if my Wife shall Marry again
everything herein above contain'd shall cease and determine and I
give her in case of such Marridge from thence One Third part of the
yearly Rent of my said Close as and for her Dowry.
I give and devise to my son JOHN after my
Wife's decease and when my youngest son (then liveing) shall attain
the age of 21 years to Hold to my said son JOHN his heirs and
assigns forever And I hereby subject the same tot he payment of £30
to my other children 6 months after his or their Entrance share and
share alike and provide any of my children should be at that time
dead leaving lawfull Issue Child or Children their part of share of
the same being dead as aforesaid shall be and go to their own child
or children; and if Children share and share alike.
And I further will and direct that my said
Trustees at their Discretion any time when they shall think fitt to
make sale and disposal of all or what part of my stock of cattle
they think requisite either by publick sale or private contracts and
the money arising by such sale or sales thereof to be put out upon
Land or other good and sufficient security And the Interest Ariseing
therefrom to be Apply'd to and for the Use of my Wife and children
And I also direct that s my Children shall
severally attain the ages of 21 years My Trustees at their
discretion to pay them the sum of £10 a peice and if they find that
there can be allow'd out of the same besides keeping a Maintenance
sufficient for my wife and younger children (she being my Widdow as
aforesaid) to pay to each of them the sum of £5 a peice more to make
each of them £15.
I also direct my said Trustees after my
youngest child then living hath attained the age of 21 years which
shall be after my wife's decease or marrydge that all my Personal
estate shall be equally divided amongst my said children share and
share alike and in case of the Death of any of them leaving children
regard being had to the same as above in their legacys.
And I do also hereby nominate constitute and
appoint the said FRANCIS RIDER, GEORGE RIDER and JAMES MOODY Joynt
Executors upon the Trusts and for the purposes aforesaid and I
hereby declare this to be my last will and testament - My trustees
not to be accountable for any bad debt or debts contracted by them

hand and seal this 25 January 1782
