This is the last Will and Testament of me CALEB RICKMAN of Hookland Park in the parish of Shipley in the County of Sussex Yeoman made this nineteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four ffirst I recommend my Soul unto Almighty God my Merciful Creator trusting through the Merits of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to obtain perfect remission and forgiveness of all my sins And as to the worldly Estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as follows (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my cousin RICHARD PETERS RICKMAN of the Cliffe near Lewes in the said County of Sussex Merchant the sum of twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to him in three months next after my Decease all the rest residue and remainder of my Corn Cattle Hay Horses Sheep Husbandry Tackle Goods Chattels Personal Estate Credits and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever which I shall be possessed of interested in or entitled unto at the time of my Decease I give and bequeath unto my said cousin RICHARD PETERS RICKMAN Upon Trust and confidence nevertheless that my said cousin RICHARD PETERS RICKMAN his Executors and Administrators shall and will immediately after my Decease turn the whole of my Corn Cattle Goods Chattels Personal Estate and Effects into money and out of the monies arising therefrom in the first place pay himself the aforesaid Legacy or sum of twenty pounds and all my just debts and ffuneral expenses also all rates and charges that my said Trustee and Executors or Administrators shall or may be put unto in carrying the Trusts of this my Will into Execution and after the same shall be fully paid and satisfied Then shall pay and divide the remainder of the money arising from the sale of my said Corn Cattle Goods Chattels and Personal Estate as aforesaid equally amongst and between my ffive children namely MARY Wife of JOHN GORHAM ANN Wife of WILLIAM HOBSON ELIZABETH RICKMAN SARAH RICKMAN and RUTH RICKMAN share and share alike And I make nominate and appoint my said kinsman RICHARD PETERS RICKMAN sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I the said Caleb Rickman the Testator have to this my last will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.  Caleb Rickman.  Signed sealed published and declared by the said Caleb Rickman as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto in the presence of the said Testator.    Chas. This will was proved at London the twentieth day of March in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine before the Right Worshipful Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Richard Peters Rickman the sole Executor named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the Deceased having been first sworn by commissioner duly to administer.
