The Will of Sarah Richards
This is
the last Will and Testament of
me Sarah Richards of Doddington
in the Isle of Ely and County of
Cambridge Gentlewoman being of
sound and disposing mind memory
and understanding first I give
and bequeath unto my son John
Bull Richards the entire
furniture of my best bedroom my
Escritoire Weather Glass Table …
Marble Slab my Dinner Service
and my Tea and Desert Service
the Saxons Barn Picture and any
other part of my furniture he
may choose I also give and
bequeath unto him my Black ….his
dear brother Henry’s Watch and
Writing Desk And also the choice
of any Guns or Books he and his
Brother Thomas may desire upon I
give and bequeath unto my son
Thomas Richards his dear
father’s Watch and Portrait his
Uncle’s Picture and my others he
and his brother John Bull may
agree upon To my daughter Julia
the Wife of Charles Colin of
Stamford in the County of
Lincoln I give and bequeath my
Cheaton my Silver Tea Pot Eye
Glass and Chain and to my
Granddaughter Sarah Colin my
Gold Watch The remaining part or
Residue of my household
furniture plate glass and linen
etc I give and bequeath unto my
sons Thomas, John Bull and my
daughters Julia Colin aforesaid
and Sarah the Wife of John
Frederic Saberton to be equally
divided amongst them share and
share alike first paying all my
just debts and my funeral and
testamentary charges and
expences And paying to my old
Servant Foster one shilling per
week for and during the term of
his natural life And my Will is
that if any part of my Annuities
shall be due to me from my two
sond Thomas and John Bull
Richards I give and bequeath the
same to my said two sons And
lastly I do hereby nominate
ordain constitute and appoint my
said two sons Thomas and John
Bull Richards joint Executors of
this my last Will and Testament
And revoking all other Will or
Wills by me at any time
heretofore made do declare this
only to be my last Will In
Witness whereof I the said Sarah
Richards the Testatrix have to
this my last Will and Testament
written one sheet of paper set
my hand and seal the twenty
third day of December one
thousand eight hundred and fifty
three Sarah Richards
