This is the last Will
and Testament of me Read
Reeve of Lavenham in the
County of Suffolk and
wrote with my own
handwriting as follows
viz I give to my eldest
Son William Reeve the
sum of twenty shillings
and I also give and
devise unto my beloved
Wife Mary Reeve all that
my Dwellinghouse in
which I now live
together with the Yards
Gardens and Appurts
thereto belonging as the
same situated lying and
being in the Street
commonly called High
Street in Lavenham
aforesaid And I also
give to my aforesaid
Wife all that my
Messuage or tenement now
in the occupation of
Henty Humbras a Weaver
and I also give to my
aforesaid Wife Mary
Reeve all that my
Messuage or Tenement
lying in Bildestone in
the County of Suffolk
being in a Street there
called Chappel Street
now in the occupation of
James Hayward Labourer
and all the above Houses
or Tenements I give unto
my Wife Mary Reeve for
her proper use and
benefit for the time of
her natural life and
after her decease it is
my will and desire that
all the above Messuages
or tenements should be
sold by Auction or
private contract and it
is my will and desire
that my Executors herein
after named should sell
and dispose of the above
named Messuages or
tenements for the best
price or prices that can
be got for the same
after the decease of my
Wife Mary Reeve and the
monies arising by such
sale or sales and it is
my will and desire that
it should be equally
divided between my five
Children and my Grandson
William Hearn that is to
say my Son William Reeve
and my Son Luck Reeve
and my Daughters Martha
Reeve Elizabeth Crooks
Reeve and Sarah Reeve
and Grandson William
Hearn all equally share
and share alike All the
Rest residue and
remainder of my Personal
Estates of what kind or
nature soever and
wheresoever I give and
bequeath unto my
aforesaid beloved Wife
Mary Reeve to and for
her proper use and
benefit and from and
after her decease what
she leave it is my will
and desire it should be
equally divided between
my five aforesaid
Children and my Grandson
William Hearn share and
share alike And lastly I
do hereby nominate and
appoint my Son William
Reeve and my Son Luck
Reeve Executors of this
my last Will and
Testament In Witness
whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal
