The Will of James Redden

 

In the Name of God Amen I James Redden of Young Street in the Parish of Kensington and in the County of Middlesex Smith being of sound mind memory and understanding but considering the frailty and uncertainty of Human Life do make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other and former Wills by me made Imprimis ffirst I recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God who gave it in hopes of a joyful Resurrection to Eternal Life and my frail Body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently Interred by my Executor herein after named (that is to say) I constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Jane Redden Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and my further Will and desire is after my just Debts and ffuneral Charges are Paid then in such Case I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Jane Redden all and singular my Goods and Chattels Book Debts of every kind that may be owing unto me at the time of my departure together with every Estate or Estates that I may happen to die possessed of of every kind or nature whatsoever or wheresoever to be by her disposed of as she thinks proper and in Witness thereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this seventh day of August and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four James Redden   (Attestation Clause)   John Silvester _ Henry Hall _ John Goddard   Proved at London 3 February 1790   PCC Prob11/1188
