This is the last Will
and Testament of me
Arthur Rebbeck of 365
Oxford Street in the
County of Middlesex,
victualler. I appoint
my friend William Neats
of Clarence Place
Camberwell in the County
of Surrey, Licensed
Victualler, sole
Executor and Trustee of
this my Will and I
appoint the Trustee of
Trustees for the time
being of this my Will to
be the Guardian or
Guardians of the person
and property of my son
Arthur William Rebbeck
during his minority. I
give and bequest to my
wife Hannah Rebbeck now
living separate and
apart from me if she
survive me all the
household furniture
linen and effects which
at the date of this my
Will belong to me in the
house and premises where
she now resides. I give
devise and bequeath all
my real estate
whatsoever and
wheresoever whether in
possession expectancy
remainder or otherwise
and all the residue of
my personal estate
including therein all my
trade furniture and the
residue of my household
furniture and my trade
and other fixtures as
also my plate plated
goods linen china glass
books wines and other
household effects and
also my trade and
business at present
carried on by me at 365
Oxford Street and the
goodwill of the same
together with all my
stock of wines spirits
beer and other liquors
and all the ready money
which at the time of my
decease shall be in my
place of residence
bankers or agents hands
and all my securities
for money with the
principal money or
interest or dividends
due at my decease
thereon respectively and
all other my estate and
effects whatsoever and
wheresoever to my
Executor and Trustee
hereinbefore named and
to his heirs executors
administrators and
assigue respectively
allowing to the nature
tenure and quality
thereof respectively
upon trust that he or
they do and shall by
sale and collection and
all other necessary ways
and means and in such
manner in all respects
as he or they may think
best convert into money
my real estate and such
parts of my personal
estate as shall not
consist of money at the
time of my decease but
with power for him or
them in his or their
discretion to postpone
or delay for such period
as he or they may think
fit the conversion into
money of all or any part
of the said estate and
after payment of my
debts funeral and
testamentary expenses
and any legacy or
legacies to be
bequeathed by any
codicil or codicils
hereto … and shall
invest the monies which
shall arise from the
aforesaid conversion and
such part of my personal
estate as shall consist
of money at the time of
my decease in his or
their name or names in
or upon … or out of the
stocks funds or
securities hereinafter
mentioned and stand
possessed of the monies
so to be invested (and
which monies stocks
funds and securities are
hereinafter refered to
under the denomination
of the said Trust
provided) upon Trust for
my said son Arthur
William Rebbeck on his
attaining the age of
twenty one years or
being married previously
to attaining such age
provided always and I do
hereby declare that it
shall be lawful for the
Trustee or Trustees for
the time being of this
my Will to pay and apply
the whole or such part
as he or they may think
fit of the

about the terms of the
trust, but the writing
on the remainder is
rather bad . don’t think
there are any surprises.

the 7th
August 1858 the Will of
Arthur Rebbeck, formerly
of 365 Oxford Street in
the County of Middlesex,
Victualler, and late of
Cranbourne in the County
of Dorset deceased, who
died on the 28th
day of June 1858 at
Cranbourne aforesaid was
proved in the Principal
registry of Her
Majesty’s Court of
Probate, by the Oath of
William Neats of No 1
Clarence Place,
Camberwell Surrey,
Licensed Victualler,
the sole Executor
therein named he having
been first sworn duly to
administer.
