In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth
Rasbothome of Haydocke in the Parish of Winwicke and countye of
Lanc’s widow beinge at this p’sent sicke & weake in body yet of
good sound & p’fect memorie praise bee to god for the same and
well Considering how short and transitorie this my life on earth
is and that death is most certayne but the tyme thereof verry
uncertayne First here by revokeing and makeinge frustrate & void
all former & other will and wills Testament and Testaments at
any tyme by mee heretofore made & published doe now ordayne
Constitute appoynt and make this to bee my last wll & testament
in maner & forme following And first & principally I Commend my
soule into the hands of Almightie God my onely creator and
redeemer in whom is all my hope of salvation and my body I
Committ unto the earth from whence it Came to bee buried
decently according to the discreation of my friends & Executors
hereafter named And as for & Concerning such temporall Estate
as god in his mercye hath bestowed on mee & blessed mee with in
this life It is my mynd and will to give and dispose of in such
maner & forme as hereafter followeth And whereas I hold one
Messuage & Tenem’t under the right worship’ll Sir Will’m Gerard
of the Brynne w’thin Ashton in makerfield in the said County of
Lanc’s barronet stituate lyeinge and being within Ashton
aforesaid Called by the name or addittion of the old-mans house
for the terme of foure-score and odd yeares determinable upon
the now surviveing life of Henry Birchall of Ashton aforesaid
Collier As by one Indenture of Lease under the hand & seale of
the said Sir will’m Gerard bearing date the seaventh day of
decemb’r in the Fifteenth yeare of the raigne of our late
sov’aigne King Charles the first ov’r England etc more fully
appeareth I doe therefore hereby devise give assigne limitt &
appoynt All & ev’ie the said recyted messuage etc ten’t houses
Edifices buildings yords orchards gardens fields Closes Crofts &
p’cells of land to the same messuage belonging or ap’tayning
with all & ev’ie th’appu’tences unto my five daughters Margaret
Mary Elizabeth Anne & Katherine Rasbothome equally amongst them
dureing all the terme men’coned & granted in the said recyted
Indenture of lease And as for and Concerninge all my p’sonall
goods & Chattells debts and utensells whatsoev’r w’ch shall of
right ap’tayne or belong unto mee at the tyme of my death It is
my mynd and will That my debts and funerall expences bee first
of all fullie discharged satiffyed & paid forth and out of the
whole And the rest residue and remaynder there of whatsoev’r
over & above the paying and dischargeing of my debts & funerall
expences as aforesaid I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my
Six daughters Ellen Margaret Mary Elizabeth Anne and Katherin
Rasbothome to bee equally divided & distributed amongst them and
the survivo’rs of them And I doe hereby alsoe nominate Constitue
appoynt ordayne & make Thomas Strange and John Strange my
brothers and Roger Hasleden my brotherinlaw my true and lawful
Executors To execute p’forme and accomplish all thinges
accordinge to my mynd and will herein before decleared as my
whole trust & Confidence is in them desireing them alsoe at all
tymes to bee aidinge and assisting to my said Children by theire
good Counsell & advice And for the better strengthning &
Corroborateinge here of I the said Elizabeth Rasbothome have
hereunto set my hand & seale the seaventh day of October in the
foureteenth yeare of the Raigne of our most gracious sov’aigne
lord Charles the second over England Scotland France and Ireland
kinge defender of the faith etc: And in the yeare of our Lord
god one thousand six hundred sixtie and two
