This is the last will and testament of me
RICHARD RAPER of Sowerby in the County of York Cordwainer in manner
following, that is to say, I give and devise to my son WILLIAM RAPER
two shilings and six pence at my decease.
I give and devise to my son JOHN RAPER two
Guineas six months after my decease.
I give and devise to my son EDWARD RAPER two
shillings and six pence at my decease and I give and devise to my
grandson WILLIAM RAPER son of THOMAS RAPER £10 to be paid by my
Executors when my grandson WILLIAM RAPER shall attain 21 years.
I give and devise to my granddaughter JANE
RAPER daughter of my son THOMAS RAPER £10 to be paid 12 months after
my decease and my will is my granddaughter JANE shall have my bed
bedstead and all the clothes and hangings that is now standing in my
son WILLIAM RAPER's.
I give and devise to my son THOMAS RAPER all
those messuages tenements or dwelling houses situate standing and
being in Sowerby and now in the occupation of WILLIAM RAPER and as
to the outbuildings garth and garden to him and heirs. I further
give and bequeath unto my said son THOMAS RAPER a field upon Sowerby
South Moor containing half an acre more or less which I have in my
own possession butted on the north side by WILLIAM MORRELL
I further give and bequeath to my son THOMAS
RAPER a small lottment of land or field on Blake Batts which I hold
in my own possession.
I further give unto my son THOMAS RAPER his
heirs and assigns all the rest residue and remainder of my real and
personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what
nature kind of quality ... charged with payments of all my just
debts funeral expences and expences of proving this my will. Lastly
I nominate constitute and appoint my said son THOMAS RAPER sole
executor of this my last will hereby revoking and making void all
former and other wills ..... In witness whereof I the said RICAHRD
RAPER the testator have to this my last will and testament set my
hand and seal this 9 July 1811.
