The Will of Ann Quartley

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Ann Quartley of Winchester in the County of Southamptonshire Widow made whilst in sound mind memory and understanding I direct that my funeral and testamentary expenses be first discharged by my Executors hereafter named from money in the two Banks of Winchester where I have money and also in money found in a small iron box I give and bequeath to Sarah Chapman five pounds who has lived with me five years I give and bequeath to my niece Ann Lefroy Wife of Revd Anthony Lefroy of Crookham and to my Niece ffrances Hone Wife of the Reverend Richard B. Hone Vicar of Hales Owen and to my Nephew William Charles Rickman the sum of six hundred Stock in the New Three and a half P.Cents now standing in my name in the bank of the Governors and Company of the bank of England to be equally divided between them share and share alike I give and bequeath to William James Quartley Nephew of my late Husband the sum of one hundred and fifty Stock other part of the Stock aforesaid New Three and a half P.Cents so standing in my name I give and bequeath to ffrances Norman Niece of my late Husband and Wife of Robert Norman of Bittiscombe in the County of Somerset the sum of two hundred and fifty Stock other part of the Stock aforesaid New Three and a half P. cent so standing in my name I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Jane Bale Niece of my late Husband and Wife of William Bale of Hulse near Milverton Somersetshire the sum of two hundred and fifty Stock other part of the Stock aforesaid New Three and a half P. cent so standing in my name I give and bequeath to Arabella Jane German Wife of ---German of Odiham in the County of Hants the sum of one hundred and fifty Stock other part of the Stock aforesaid New Three and a half P.Cents so standing in my name And whereas is the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty five a sum of money was subscribed for the benefit of the aforesaid Arabella Jane German (then Arabella Jane Gibbs) which was placed within my hands and was invested in my name in the public ffunds called the long Annuities I hereby declare that no money is due to any person on account of the same Arabella Jane German (late Arabella Jane Gibbs) every demand on her having been paid by me Also I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred Stock to Mr John Palmer of Huish Champflower near Wivelscomb Huish Somersetshire being part of Stock in the New Three and half P. Cents aforesaid now standing in my name All the Rest residue and Remainder of my estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever situate at the time of my decease I give and bequeath to my Niece and Goddaughter Anne Lefroy Wife of Reverend Anthony Lefroy to and for her own use and benefit And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Nephew William Charles Rickman of No 21 Hyde Park Corner and John Tourle Esquire of No 36 Southampton Buildings London Executors of this my last Will and Testament And hereby revoking all former Wills by me made I declare this to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this sixth day of ffebruary one thousand eight hundred and forty six     Ann Quartley
