The Will of Sarah Quaite
In the Name
of God Amen the Six and twentieth day of December in the
Year of our Lord God One thousand seven hundred and
thirty three I Sarah Quaite of ffarnham in the County of
Surrey Widow being Aged but of sound and disposing mind
memory and understanding (praised be Almighty God
therefore) Do make publish ordain and declare this my
last Will and Testament in manner following that is to
say ffirst and Principally I Commend my Soul into the
hands of Almighty God my Creator Assuredly trusting for
Mercy through the Merritts Death and Passion of my Lord
and Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ And my Body I Commit
to the Earth which I desire may be decently Interred in
the Church of ffarnham aforesaid as near as may be to my
late Husband George Quaite deceased in such manner as my
Executrix herein after named shall think fitt And as
touching such temporal Estate as it hath pleased
Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose
thereof as followeth that is to say I give and bequeath
to my Son George Quaite One Shilling to be Paid to him
at my decease I also give and bequeath unto my Grandson
ffrancis Quaite and to my Granddaughter Elizabeth Lucas
the Sum of ten Pounds apiece to be Paid unto them by my
Executrix within Six months next after my decease And
all the rest and residue of my Estate and Effects reall
or Personal of what kind soever I hereby give devise and
bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah the Wife of John Lucas
of Clare Market London Butcher To hold to her my said
Daughter Sarah Lucas her Heirs Executors Admors and
Assigns for ever Solely Separate and Apart from her said
Husband (notwithstanding her Coverture) Subject
nevertheless to the Payment of my Just Debts ffuneral
Expences and Legacies above mentioned And I do hereby
make constitute and Ordain my said Daughter the said
Sarah Lucas sole Executrix and Residuary Legatee of this
my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former
and other Wills and Testamts by me at any time
heretofore made and this only is to be taken for my last
Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto
sett my Hand and Seal the day and Year first above
