The will of Jessie Purkis is that of
Joseph Thomas Purkis, with a note on the cover page "Power
reserved to the other executor" and "Double Probate".
DEATH ON OR AFTER 1ST

Will.
BE IT KNOWN that Jessie
Jane Eliza Purkis of 411 Clive Court Maida Vale Paddington in
the County of Middlesex Widow died there on the 21st
day of March 1926
AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN
that at the date hereunder written the last Will and Testament
with a Codicil of the said deceased was proved and registered in
the Principal Probate Registry of His Majesty’s High Court of
Justice, and that administration of all the estate which by law
devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said
deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Kennel Noel
Purkis of the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Hospital Lower Road
Rotherhithe in the County of Kent F.R.C.S. son of deceased one
of the Executors named in the said Will

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND
TESTAMENT of me JOSEPH THOMAS PURKIS of “Strathmore” Loweay Road
Southsea in the county of Southampton Fleet Engineer R N I
hereby revoke all wills and testamentary instruments heretofore
by me made I appoint my wife Jessie Jane Eliza Purkis of
“Strathmore” Loweay Road Southsea and _of_ to be the sole
Executrix of this my will I direct my Executrix to pay my just
debts and funeral and testamentary expenses I give and bequeath
all my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever unto my
dear wife Jessie Jane Eliza Purkis her heirs executors
administrators and assigns absolutely
WITNESS my hand this 17th
(seventeenth) day of March 1900 – JOSEPH THOMAS PURKIS – Signed
by the above named testator as his last will in the presence of
us both being present at the same time who in his presence and
in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names
