This is the
last Will and Testament of me
Emanuel Puplet of Bansted in the
County of Surry Yeoman made the
Thirteenth day of March in the Year
of our Lord One thousand seven
hundred and forty eight ffirst I
give and bequeath unto the Poor of
the said Parish of Bansted Thirty
Dozen of Bread or Thirty Shillings
in Money and to the Poor of the
Parish of Walton on the Hill in the
said County of Surry Thirty Dozen of
Bread or Thirty Shillings in Money
to be distributed or paid at the
discretion of my Executrix herein
after named on the Sunday next after
the Internment of my Body I give and
devise unto my Granddaughter
Elizabeth Puplett All my ffreehold
and Customary Messuages Lands
Tenements and Hereditaments situate
lying and being in Bansted aforesaid
and holden of the Manor of Tadworth
now in the Tenure or Occupation of
my Son in Law George Hatcher which
Customary Lands I have Surrendered
into the Hands of the Lord of that
Manor to the use of my last Will I
likewise give and devise unto my
said Granddaughter Elizabeth Puplet
all that my Messuage or Tenement
Lands and Premises with their and
every of their Appurtenances situate
lying and being in Walton aforesaid
commonly called or known by the Name
of Greshams containing by Estimation
Eight Acres more or less and now in
the several Tenures or Occupations
of James Haynes and my said Son in
Law To have and to hold the said
Messuages Lands Tenements
Hereditaments and Premises with
their and every of their
Appurtenances unto my said
Granddaughter Elizabeth Puplet for
and during the Term of her natural
Life and after her decease to the
Heirs of her Body lawfully to be
begotten and for want of such Issue
to the right Heirs of the said
Elizabeth Puplet for ever Subject
nevertheless and liable to the
Payment of Seventeen Pounds of
lawful Money of Great Britain Yearly
and evry Year to her Mother Jane
Hatcher during the Term of her
natural Life ffifteen Pounds Part
thereof being Settled upon her
before her Marriage with my son
Thomas I likewise give and bequeath
unto said Granddaughter Elizabeth
Thirty Pounds of lawful Money of
Great Britain to be paid to her by
my Executrix within Twelve Months
next after my decease Also I give to
her the ffeather Bed which I now lye
on and the ffurniture thereunto
belonging One Chest and everything
therein left at the time of my
decease now standing and being in
the Parlour of the House wherein I
now dwell I give and devise unto my
Granddaughter Mary Puplet All my
Messuage or Tenement Lands and
Premises situate lying and being in
.... aforesaid containing by
Estimation ffourteen Acres more or
less .... and now in the several
Occupations of Thomas Bayley and my
said Son in Law To have and to hold
the said last mentioned Messuages
Lands Tenements Hereditaments and
Premises with their and every of
their Appurtenances unto my said
Granddaughter Mary Puplet during the
Term of her natural Life and after
her decease to the Heirs of her Body
lawfully to be begotten and for want
of such Issue to the right Heirs of
the said Mary Puplet for ever I
likewise give and bequeath unto my
said Granddaughter Mary One hundred
and Thirty Pounds of lawful Money of
Great Britain to be paid to her by
my Executrix within Twelve Months
next after my decease I also give
and bequeath unto my said
Granddaughter Mary One Chest and
everything therein left at the time
of my decease now standing and being
in the Hall Chamber in the house
aforesaid All the rest residue and
remainder of my Goods Chattels Debts
ready Moneys Effects and Personal
Estate whatsoever and wheresoever
which at the time of my deceased I
shall be possessed of interested in
or in any ways intitled to (after
Payment of the aforesaid Legacys my
Debts and ffuneral Charges) I give
and bequeath unto my said Daughter
in Law Jane Hatcher whom I nominate
make and appoint sole Executrix of
this my Will contained in One Sheet
of Paper declaring this to be my
last Will and Testament revoking all
former and other Wills by me at any
time heretofore made And Lastly I
nominate and appoint Thomas ffrank
of Kingston and upon Thames Malster
and William Steward of Epsom Yeoman
Trustees of my Will and to take Care
the same be duly Performed In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and Seal the Day and Year
