The Will of Edward Prist

 

In the name of God Amen the tenth day of March And in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred and forty and seaven I Edward Prist of Tharfeild in the county of Harts yeoman being sick in body but of good and p[er]fect remembrance thanks bee given to almighty God for it doth in this good time make and ordayne this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge that is to say ffirst I bequeath my soule to Almighty God trustinge through the merritts of Jesus Christ to be saved Item I give and bequeath to Edward Prist my sonne thirty pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto him when as hee shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeares Item I give and bequeath to George Prist my sonne a hundred pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto him when as he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeares Item I give and bequeath to Anne Prist my daughter three hundred pounds of good and lawfull mony of England to be paid unto her when as shee shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeares Item my will is that if my daughter Anne depart this world before she shall accomplish the said age of one and twenty yeares then my will is that my said sonne George Prist shall have two hundred pounds of her portion and my said sonne Edward Prist fifty pounds of the aforesaid three hundred pounds And my will is that if my said son George Prist dep[ar]te this world before that hee shall accomplish the said age of one and twenty yeares then my said daughter Anne Preist shall have his said hundred pounds Item my will is that if my said sonne Edward Prist dep[ar]te this world before hee shall accomplish the said age of one and twenty yeares then my will is that my said daughter shall have fower s_ow and nynteen pounds of my said sonne Georges portion of the said three hundred pounds howsoever Item my will is that Annes my wife shall not make any strip or wast upon my messuages lands tenements hereditaments whatsoe__ but to keepe tidy thinge in a good and an honest way to keepe the houses in good repair and to lop the those trees that have ben usually lopped All the residue of my goods chattels unbequeathed I give and bequeath to the said Agnes my wife my whole and sole executrix To see my funerall expenses discharged my debts and legacies paid In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seals the daie and yeare first above written Edward Prist Read sealed and deliv_ed as my last will and testament in the p[rese]nce of us Thomas Prist x his mark Thomas Tell
