The Will of William Priddey

 

In the Name of God Amen I William Priddey of Allington in the Parish of Chippenham in the County of Wilts Gentleman being of sound & disposing mind memory & understanding do make & declare this my last Will and Testament in manner & form following that is to say I give to my Bror John Priddey of the City of Bath Druggist the Sum of twenty pounds to buy him Mourning I also give him all my Wearing Apparel & Body Linen I give to my beloved Wife ffrances Priddey & to her own use benefit & disposal the Remainder of my Interest in the House I now inhabit at Allington in the Parish of Chippenham aforesaid together with all the ffurniture of in & belonging to the said House my Plate only excepted I also give her the Sum of ffour hundred Pounds of good & lawful Money of the united Kingdom of great Britain & Ireland to be raised either by the Sale of Part of my Stock in the Public ffunds or other convenient means & to be paid or transferred to her my said Wife & to her own use benefit & disposal I also give to my said Wife for & during the course of her natural life the possession & use of my aforementioned Plate I also give her the Rents Issues & annual Interests of all my Houses & Ground Rents of Houses (being Personal Property) & also of all my Monies disposed of on Government or other Securities to be by her received & enjoyed during the course of her natural life & from & after her decease I give my aforesaid Plate together with all my aforementioned Rents & Annual Interests in like manner to my Niece ffrances Priddey fframe the Wife of Edmund George fframe of the Parish of St Giles in the ffields in the County of Middlesex Attorney at Law to be by her the said ffrances Priddey fframe & her only received & applied during the course of her natural life Subject nevertheless to an Annuity of Thirty Pounds to be paid thereout Yearly & every year to my aforesaid Bror John Priddey & which I will shall be paid him from the time of the decease of my aforesaid Wife & continue to be paid him as long as he my said Brother shall happen to live & from & after the decease of my said Niece ffrances Priddey fframe I give the whole of my property (except such given as aforesaid to my Wife & except the Annuity payable as aforesaid to my Brother if he shall be then living)without restitution or limitation to the Issue of the body of my said niece lawfully begotten & in case my said Niece should die leaving no Issue I then give the whole of my said property with the exceptions above stated to the aforesaid Edmund George fframe the Husband of my said Niece & I hereby nominate constitute & appoint my aforesaid Wife ffrances Priddey & the said Edmund George fframe Executrix & Exor of this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me heretofore at any time made & declaring these presents only to contain my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I the Testator William Priddey have to this my last Will & Testament set & subscribed my hand & Seal this fifth day of March in the year of our Lord 1811 Wm Priddey
