In the Name of God Amen. The xxi daie of March
Anno Domini 1619 I ANTHONIE PLEWES of Bellerbie knowing nothing more
certaine than death and nothing more uncertain than the tyme thereof
and being now in good health and perfect remembrance (thanks be to
Almightie God) doe make this my last will and testament in manner
and forme following.
First I bequeath my soule to Almightie God my
maker and Redeemer and my bodie to be buried within the Church yard
of the parish Church of Spennithorne when it shall please God to
call me to his mercye, and for my worldly Goods I give and bequeath
them in manner and forme following That is to say Whereas JOHN
JOHNSON of Low Ellington hath one cowe of mine to note to the value
of liii s iiii d I will and my minde is that he shall pay to mine
Executor xxvi s viii d and the residue I doe freely give and
bequeath to him and his wife.
Item I doe give and bequeath all my right and
tytle of my farme att Moore House with the leave of the Rt
Honourable Lo: Scroope and heires and Successors unto GEORGE PLEWES
my sonne, I suffered my young brother FRANCIS PLEWES to take a lease
of that farme for xxi yeares because I had att that tyme other
living but I will that he shall have it during that tyme but after I
give and bequeath the said farme to my said sonne GEORGE PLEWES with
the leave of my lorde, for I never solde it not gave it to my
younger brother FRANCIS but only suffered him to take that lease.
Item I do give and bequeath all my goods
chattells moveable and unmoveable debts and credits whatsoever to
ANNE PLEWES now my wife and GEORGE PLEWES my sonne to be equally
divided betwixt them (my funeral exepences and debts discharged) And
I make and ordaine the said ANNE PLEWES and GEORGE PLEWES the sole
executors of this my last will and testament In witness I the said
Anthonie Plews have to this my last will and testament set my hand
