The Will of Mary Pitkin

 

In the Name of God Amen The last Will of Mary Pitkin of Mursley in the County of Bucks Widdow made the Twentieth Day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and fforty seven ffirst I Bequeath my Soul into the hands of God who made it Trusting for Salvation through Christ Jesus my Body I comit to the Earth to be decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executor And for Such my Temporal Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as followeth ffirst I Give Devise and Bequeath unto John Pitkin my Son my Bedstid Bed Curtains and Bedding (in the little Chamber)whereon I now lye three pair of Sheets a little Chest of Drawers made of Deal and a little table in the Parlour Three pewter Dishes two of which are marked J.P. and the other with M.P. and a Warming Pann And One Hundred Pounds of Lawfull money of this Kingdome to be paid unto him by my Executor hereinafter named Also I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Daughter Susanna Pitkin One Bed standing in the little Chamber with the Linen and all other things therein and Bedstid Bed and Bedding in the Room adjoining to the Little Chamber and the green Curtains the Large Round Table the Larger Warming Pann a Tea Table and a Chest of Drawers in the Parlour all my Gold Rings and my Wearing Apparell of what sort soever and Sixty Pounds of like lawfull money to be paid unto her by my Executor hereinafter named within Six Months next after my decease All the rest of my Goods Chattells Creditts and personall Estated whatsoever and wheresoever not herein before Given and Bequeathed I doe Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Son Benedict Pitkin Subject nevertheless to the payment of the two Legacys herein before Given to his Brother and Sister and I doe by this my Will Charge all my personall herein before Given and Bequeathed to my said Son Benedict Pitkin with the true payment thereof and I doe hereby make constitute and appoint my said Son Benedict Pitkin full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and doe revoke and make void all former Wills and Testamts by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal the Day and Year first above Written
