In the Name of God amen I John Pickersgill of
Ilton in the County of York yeoman being weake in Body but of
perfect sound memory God be praised for the same well knoweing all
men must die and being mindfull to sette all Things in Order before
my Death doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and
forme following first and principally I give and bequeath my Soul to
Almighty God my heavenly Father and my Body to the Earth to be
buried in a Christian manner at the Discretion of my Executors
hereafter named And for my Worldly Estate I give devise and bequeath
as followeth
Item I give and devise unto my Nephew John
Pickersgill of Wardermaske his heires and Assignes forever One Close
of ground called Bull Roods One Rood of ground lyeing in the New
Close one Other Close called Seavelands one other Close called
Mickledales with the Applenances lyeing within the Township of Ilton
aforesaid
Item I give and bequeath unto Anthony Beckwith
son of George Beckwith of Roomer All my Right Title and Tennant
Right of in and to my ffarme at Ilton called Mossmire with the
Licence and Leave of the Hon:ble Sir Abstrupus Danby G:nt
Item I give and devise unto the said Anthony
Beckwith his heires and Assignes for ever One Messuage in Ilton
aforesaid called Nebb Lea with the Burne and the Backside thereunto
adjoineing
Item I give and bequeath unto the Poor of
Ilton aforesaid Ten pounds the Interest thereof yearly to be paid
for ever out of a Certaine Close of ground called Hippershaw which
said Close I give and bequeath unto John Ward of Swinton William
Beckwith of Roomer John Pickersgill of Wardermaske and Thomas Ripley
of Fearby their heires and Assignes they paying out thereof the said
yearly Interest of Ten pounds for ever unto the said Poor of Ilton
the Friday next before Easter Day
Item I give and bequeath unto the fower
Daughters of the said George Beckwith every one of them six pounds
to be paid by my Executors hereafter named within a twelvemoneth
next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto the Daughter of
John Pickersgill of Wardermaske whom I stood Surety for in her
Baptisme six pounds to be paid within a twelvemoneth next after my
Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto Margaret Ripley
wife of the said Thomas Ripley six pounds and to his son to whom I
was Godfather five shillings to be paid within a twelvemoneth next
after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto all my other
Godsons and Daughters every one of them two shillings and sixpence
to be paid within a twelvemoneth next after my Decease
Item I give unto William Beckwith of Roomer
and John Ward of Swinton either of them six pounds to be paid within
a twelvemoneth next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto Katherine
Botchby my now servant and Barbary Bankes my late servant either of
them forty shillings
To Anne Pickersgill Daughter of Henry
Pickersgill deceased and to Jane Mitchell either of them five
shillings
Item I give and Devise all my other Freehold
Lands not above bequeathed with their Appurtenances unto the said
John Ward William Beckwith John Pickersgill and Thomas Ripley their
heires and Assignes Equally among them they paying all the legacies
above bequeathed
Lastly I revoke all other wills by me made And
I doe Constitute and appoint the said John Ward William Beckwith

more I give unto my Sister Allice Beckwith six
pounds George Browns daughter of Middleham if liveing ten shillings
