The Will of Samuell Phipps

 

In the Name of God Amen I Samuell Phipps of Morton in Marsh in the County of Gloucester Yeoman Do make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament in Maner and form Following (that is to Say) First I commend My Soul into the Hands of God who Gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth from whence it was Taken to be Buried in a Decent Maner at the Discretion of My Executors Hereinafter Named and as to What Worldly Estate and Effects it hath pleasd Almighty God to Endow me with I Give and Bequeath in Maner and form Following Imprimis I Give and Bequeath unto My grandson Samuell Phipps All my Waring Apparell and Household Goods of what Kind or Nature So Ever that I shall stand seizd with at the time of My Death

 

Imprimis I give and Bequeath unto my Executors Hereinafter Named All that my Freehold Estate Situated Lying and being in the Parish of Willesey in the County of Gloucester now in the Possession of the Rev M Scott as Tenant to Me (In Trust) for the uses Hereinafter mentioned (That is to say) for t debts and Funerall Expences And the Surplus and remainder for the Sole use and Benifit of My Grandson Samuel Phipps

 

And Lastly I do Nominate and Appoint Mr Francis Wheatcroft And Mr Henry Gillett to be the Whole and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament Given under My Hand and Seale this 11^th Day of March 1755 Signd Seald and Delivered by the Testator in the Presence of us who in his Presence and at his request have subscribd our names as Witnesses  Samuell Phipps His Marke
