The Will of John Phipps

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Phipps the Elder of Great Hampton near Evesham in the County of Worcester Yeoman do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say Whereas I have already provided for all my Children except my son John, and have, with what I hereinafter give to them, given them a full share and Child’s…..of my whole property therefore I intend the residue after payment of the Legacies hereinafter mentioned my Debts and Funeral Expences, for my son John. I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Phipps One Guinea to be paid him within One Year after my decease. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann the Wife of George Coleman of Broadway in the County of Worcester the Sum of Ten pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Britain and to my Daughter Elizabeth Wife of Isaac Hemming of Great Washbourn I give and bequeath the like Sum of Ten pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid to my said Daughters respectively within Twelve Months after my decease And my Will and meaning is and I do direct Will and declare that the said Sum of Ten Pounds by me before given to each of my daughters Ann and Elizabeth shall be paid to them respectively for their own sole and seperate Use and Benefit exclusive and not subject to the Controul Debts or Engagement of their respective, present or future Husbands And their Respective Receipts alone without their present or future Husbands shall be a sufficient Discharge to my Executor hereinafter named for the said Legacies. All the rest residue and remainder of my Household Furniture Goods Chattels Money Securities for Money and all other my personal Estate of what nature or kind soever or wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my said Son John Phipps his Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely for ever And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said John Phipps sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Twelfth Day of July in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and seventy nine
