In the Name of God Amen I John Philpott Tide Surveyor of Excise at the Port of Plymouth in the County of Devon being very weak in Body yet by the Blessing of God of sound and disposing Mind, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say first of all I give and recommend my soul to Almighty God that gave it and my Body to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executrix and as touching my Worldly Effects I give and bequeath all and every thing whether Monies Debts due to me Household Goods Plate Wearing Apparel and all other things of what Nature or Denomination soever that shall belong and appertain to me at the time of my decease And also all and every part of the Monies which may arise from any sale of Seizures and belonging to me after my decease I give and bequeath all and every thing as aforesaid unto my beloved Sister in Law Susanah Garner in Consideration of the Expence she must be at in keeping my two Children John and Hannah Philpott till they can be otherwise provided for I also make constitute and appoint ordain the said Susanah Garner whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament , desiring her to pay and discharge all my Debts and ffuneral Expences out of the Effects hereby to her bequeathed And I do hereby ratify and Confirm this to be my last Will and Testament (revoking and disannulling all former ones) And I desire all Persons to accept this as such.
