This is the last Will and Testament of me
Anne Pewtriss of Ledbury in the County of Hereford Widow who am
present of sound and disposing Mind Memory and understanding
ffirst I hereby order and direct that all my just Debts ffuneral
Expences and the Charges of Proving this my Will be paid and
satisfied by my Executors hereinafter named And I do hereby give
and bequeath unto my Grandson John Hale of..... in the County of
Lincoln Clerk at the end of one Year next after my Decease the
Legacy or Sum of ffive hundred Pounds and also the Portraits of
his ffather Joseph Hale and his Mother my late Daughter
Margaretta Wife of the said Joseph Hale Deceased and the
Mourning Ring which I had for the said Margaretta Also I give
and bequeath to the three Children of my said Grandson John Hale
the Legacy or Sum of ten pounds each Also I give and bequeath to
my Maid Servant Ann Mutlow the Legacy or Sum of twenty five
pounds provided she shall continue my service and be living at
the time of my Decease but not otherwise Also I Give and
bequeath to my Son James Pewtriss the legacy or Sum of One
hundred Pounds and also my Silver Tankard my Silver Tumbler my
Gold Watch and a Mourning ring which I had for my late Son
Thomas Pewtriss Deceased And I do hereby give and bequeath to my
Daughter Anne all my other Rings and Trinkets and all my Wearing
Apparel and as to all the Rest residue and remainder of my
Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give
and bequeath the same to my said Daughter Anne and my said Son
James in equal Shares and Proportions And it is my Will and
intention that if either my said Daughter Anne or my said Son
James shall depart this Life in my Lifetime then and in such
Case the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate so
given and bequeathed to them as aforesaid shall become the
absolute Property of the Survivor of them and I give and
bequeath the same to her or him accordingly And I do hereby
nominate constitute and appoint my said Son James Executor of
this my last Will and Testament and hereby revoking and making
void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore
made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the
Day of September in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight
