The Will of John Peters

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Peters of Maperton in the County of Somerset Gentleman as follows that is to say As to my freehold dwellinghouses lands and premises at West Stour in the County of Dorset or wheresoever else situate I give and devise the same unto my son John Weston Peters and my daughter Sarah Peters their heirs and assigns In trust to permit my wife Jane to receive and take the rents issues and profits thereof during the term of her natural life And immediately after her decease and subject to her life interest therein that my said trustees do sell and dispose thereof together or in lots and by private or public sale as to them shall seem meet and the proceeds thereof do apply in the same manner as my personal estate herein after disposed of and in order to facilitate such sale I do declare that the receipt of my said trustees his and their heirs or of such of them as shall act shall be a sufficient discharge to the several purchasers who shall not be answerable for the misapplication or nonapplication thereof I give unto my said wife the use, but not the property, of such of my household goods and furniture as she may choose for her own use for her life and on her decease to be disposed of by my Executors I give unto my said son John Weston Peters my two leasehold tenements and gardens at Gillingham in the said County of Dorset for all my estate and interest therein absolutely for his own use. As to my farming stock live and dead articles and implements of husbandry growing crops the residue of my household goods and furniture moneys and securities for money and the estates thereby related, proceeds of my said freehold estate and all other my Real and personal estates whatsoever I give and bequeath unto the said John Weston Peters and Sarah Peters In trust to convert the same respectively into money and to divide retain and pay the same unto and equally between themselves and my four other children and in the event of either of my children dying in my life time it is my will that such of his or her children or issue as shall be living at my decease shall be entitled to and receive the parents part. I appoint my said son and daughter Sarah Executors and hereby revoking all other wills declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty John Peters Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Peters to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have set our names as witnesses Wm Brett Joseph Bennett Uh Messiter
