The Will of William Percy

 

In the Name of God Amen I William Percy of East Tisted in the County of Southampton being infirm in Body but of good Understanding do make Publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) ffirst I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator trusting through the merits and Intercession of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to receive Pardon and remission of all my Sins And my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Interred Also I give and bequeath unto my Son Josceline Percy the sum of ffifty Pounds to be paid him at the end of twelve Months next after my decease Also I give and bequeath unto my said Son All my Wearing Apparell both Linnen and Woollen together with my two Pair of Gold Shirt Buttons all my Law Books my ffowling Peice my Cse of Pistolls and Shot Pouch Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter in Law Ann Percy by Aget handled Knife Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Lane Percy All such Money being the consideration for One hundred Pounds Interest or share in the Capital or joint Stock transferred to me at the Bank of England and Erected by an Act of Parliament for raising the sum of One Million of Pounds by way of Lottery and also all such dividends and Interest thereof due And that may hereafter grow and become due for the same Also all my Goods Chattels ready Money Monies out on Security my Gold Ring my largest Silver Spoon and my three Silver Tea Spoons And all my Books of Divinity and Personal Estate of what or nature soever they be not hereby already disposed of after Payment of my Debts and ffuneral Expences I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Lane Percy And I do hereby Nominate constitute and Appoint my said Daughter Elizabeth Lane Percy Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said William Percy the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament  set my hand and Seal the Ninth day of October in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty one Wm Percy
