The Will of Nathaniel Pearson

 

In the Name of God Amen I Nathaniel Pearson of Hockliff in the County of Bedford Joyner being weake in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be Almighty God for the same doe make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) first and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Maker and Redeemer hoping and assuredly believing that by and through the alone meritts death and Passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I shall obtain full and free pardon and remission of all my sins here committed and Life everlasting in the Kingdom of Heaven and my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as touching the disposall of such Worldly Estate as it hath pleased Alighty God to bestow on me I give and dispose of the same as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Wife Elizabeth Pearson the sume of one English shilling Item I give bequeath and devise unto my loving Mother Elizabeth Pearson all those two Messuages or Tenements and Barns and Orchard and premisses with the appurtenances thereunto belonging no in the tenure and occupation of John Adams and situate lying and being in the Parish of Chargrove in the County of Bedford for and during her naturall life and from and after my said Mother's decease then I doe give and devise the said Messuages or Tenements barn and Orchard with the appurtenences unto my loving brother Henry Pearson and William Pearson and to my Sister Anne Purrott Wife of Daniel Purrott to be equally divided between them part and share alike But if in case my Sister should happen to dye Then her share to goe to my two Brothers Henry Pearson and William Pearson Item All the rest residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattells moneys Plate debts and Estate whatsoever after my debts shall be payd Legacyes satisfyed and funerall expences discharged I give and bequeath unto my brothers Henry Pearson and William Pearson equally to be divided And I doe order and appoint them Executors of this my last Will and Testament And lastly I doe revoke and make void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and this only doe I establish and confirm for and as my last Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this two and twentieth day of March Anno Dmi 1713 And in the thirteenth year of the Reign of Queen Anne over Great Britain
