The Will of Thomas Pass

 

In the name of God Amen I THOMAS PASS of the parish of Saint Giles in the ffields in the County of Middlesex Taylor being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following. ffirst and principally I resign my Soul to God Almighty and hope for salvation thro' the Merits of my Blessed Redeemer Jesus Christ. I desire to be Interred at the discretion of my Executors herinafter named in the parish above mentioned But all my just debts and ffuneral charges must be first and immdiately paid. I give and bequeath unto my present wife MARY PASS ffifty pounds for Mourning I give to my Father RICHARD PASS Ten pounds for Mourning I give to my Brother JOHN PASS one Guinea I give to my Brother RICHARD PASS Ten pounds for Mourning I give to my sister SUSANNAH PASS Ten pound or any name she may have contracted by marriage I give to Mr. WILLIM RUSH Ten pounds for Mourning I give to Mr. WILLIAM SIMPSON ten pounds for Mourning I give to ANN PRIDYON a Gold Ring of one Guinea value I give to SARAH GREEN my late housekeeper fifty pounds. I name and constitute the above named WILLIAM SIMPSON and my Wife MARY PASS Executors of this my last Will and Testament I give to my Father RICHARD PASS all and every part of that Land I purchased of WILLIAM COSGROVE now let to Mr. JOSEPH WADDAM at eight pounds per annum And as a token of my Gratitude and ffriendship I have for the above named WILLIAM SIMPSON one of my Executors I give and bequeath one hundred pounds at the decease of Mrs. MARGARET PASS of Elysham Row ffulham. After this my Will is fulfilled all the rest of my Effects of what nature soever I give to my said wife MARY PASS for her whole and seperate use for ever And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Wife MARY PASS and the said WILLIAM SIMPSON to be joint Executors of this my last Will. Item I give to my ffather RICHARD PASS all such sum or sums of money that may be due to me at my decease over and above the sums within mentioned I also give to my Brother RICHARD PASS all such sum or sums of money that may be due to me at my decease over and above the sum within mentioned. I revoke all Wills and Testamentary Disposition by me before made and in Testimony that this is my last Will and Testament have hereunto set my hand and seal this 30th day of October in the year of our Lord 1762 THOMAS PASS signed sealed published and declared by THOMAS PASS to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Witnesses underwritten who have at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as Witnesses to the Execution of this his Will CHARLES BANISTER   JOHN UPPINGTON

This will was proved at London the seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight before the Worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of William Simpson and Mary Pass Widow and Relict of the deceased and Executors named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer
