The Will of William Parsons

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Parsons of Holton in the County of Somerset Yeoman made this ninth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two, that is to say I give and devise the Messuage or Dwellinghouse in which I reside at Holton aforesaid with the Gardens Outhouses and appurtenances thereto belonging unto my dear Wife Elizabeth for and during her natural life and from and after her decease I give and devise the same unto my son William his heirs and assigns for ever All my household goods and furniture monies and securities for money and other my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever I bequeath unto my said son William and son in law Moses Longman their heirs executors and administrators upon trust to pay and discharge my just debts funeral and testamentary expences and to permit and suffer my said wife to have the use and enjoyment of my household goods and furniture during her life and to pay to or permit and suffer her to receive and take the interest and income to arise from my said Trust Fund and monies during her life And after her death upon trust to convert into money my said household goods and all other my said estate not consisting of money and thereout pay to my grandchildren Jane Hinks John Hinks William Hinks and Thomas Hinks the sum of ten pounds each which sums I direct to be paid to my said grandchildren at their respective ages of twenty one years or day of marriage with benefit of survivorship amongst them in case of the death of any one or more of them in the mean time and subject thereto Upon trust to divide the residue of my said Trust Fund equally amongst all my children except William who is otherwise provided for share and share alike deducting from the shares of my children afternamed the several sums herein specified which I have already advanced to them namely from the share of my son in law Benjamin White and his wife the sum of sixty pounds George Parsons sixty pounds William Mitchell and wife sixty pounds Uriah Martin and wife fifty pounds and Moses Longman and wife thirty five pounds And I appoint my said son William and son in law Moses Longman Executors of this my Will and empower them to reimburse themselves all costs and charges they may incur or sustain in the execution of the trusts hereof In Witness whereof I have to this and the preceding sheet subscribed my name the day and year first before written
