The Will of Margaret Parry

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Margaret Parry of the Town of Llanidloes in the County of Montgomery Spinster I Give and bequeath unto my Cousins Susannah Lloyd and her Sister Margaret Turner and to my Cousins David Lloyd and Thomas Lloyd the Sum of ten pounds each I also give and bequeath to my Servants namely Anne Owen William Alderson and Thomas Jones the Sum of ffive Pounds each and to Elizabeth Owen the Daughter of Ann Owen the sum of one pound, the said several and respective legacies to be Paid at the expiration of Six months after my decease. I give and bequeath unto Mr John Howells of London a Broach and request that he may have the fixtures in the house in which I now live (if he should wish them) at a fair valuation I Also give and bequeath unto my ffriends Mr and Mrs Hopkins each a Ring or a Broach as a token of my regard for them, I request that the family Pictures may not be sold but kept by my Sister Mary, those of Mr Thomas Gowan and my Sister Eliza to be kept for and given to Juliana Morton when she shall come to England And the two pictures of my lamented Niece Mary Ann Ross to be given one to each of her Daughters namely Eliza Jane Ross and Mary Ann Ross I give and bequeath to Eliza Morton my Gold Chain Bracelets and Broach of her Parents hair, All my Gold Ornaments and Trinkets to be divided between the said Eliza Jane Ross  Mary Ann Ross and Eliza Morton And it is my Will that my young relatives and ffriends in India namely George Edward Gowan, Edward Parry Gowan, Alexander Ross and William Morton shall all each have a Ring or Broach as a trifling testimony of my affection for them And as touching and concerning the residue and remainder of my Personal estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever which shall remain after payment of my just debts legacies ffuneral expences and the expence of proving this my Will I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto William Lewis Hopkins of Aberannel in the County of Brecon and Thomas Gowan of the Cottage in the Parish of Llanidloes in the said County of Montgomery Esquire and the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators of such Survivor upon Trust to sell dispose collect and get in the same And to invest the money arising therefrom in some or one of the Public ffunds of this Kingdom in the name of them the said William Lewis Hopkins and Thomas Gowan or the Survivor of them or the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor upon the trusts and to and for the uses intents and purposes hereinafter declared of and concerning the same (that is to say) Upon trust that they do and shall pay the dividends and interest of the said securities so as aforesaid to be purchased unto my Sister Mary Gowan for and during the term of her natural life And from and immediately after her decease to Pay the dividends and interest as shall arise and be produced from the said Securities from the death of my Sister Mary unto her Daughter Mary ffrancis Gowan during  the term of her natural life  she remaining sole and unmarried And from and after the death or marriage of the said Mary ffrancis Gowan I give and bequeath the said residue or the ffunds or Securities in which the same shall have been invested equally share and share alike unto all my Nieces and Nephews as shall be then living their Executors Administrators and Assigns to and for their own use and benefit And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Sister Mary Gowan the said William Lewis Hopkins and Thomas Gowan Executrix and Executors of this my last Will and Testament Provided and my Will is that my said trustees and Executrix and Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereinbefore named and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor shall and may at all times in the first place reimburse and indemnify themselves herself and himself respectively and deduct and retain to themselves herself and himself respectively out of the said trust premises all such costs charges damages and expences as they or either of them shall or may at any time expend lay out or be put unto for or by reason or means of all or either of the trusts hereby in them reposed And that neother of them shall be answerable for any loss which may happen to any of the said trust premises unless such loss happen through his her or their wilful neglect or default nor the one for the other or others of them nor for more monies than shall actually come to each of their hands respectively but each and every of them for his her or their own acts deed receipts neglects and defaults only nor for any loss which shall or may happen by occasion of depositing any money in the hands keeping or custody of any public or common Banker And I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills by me at any time And do declare these presents to be and contain my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Margaret Parry the Testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament subscribed and set my hand and Seal the second day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty one _ Margaret Parry
