The Will of William Paradise

 

In the Name of God Amen I William Paradise of Newberry in the County of Berks being weake in body but if sound and disposing mind and memory Revoking and disannulling all former and other Wills by me heretofore made Doe think fitt to make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner following Whereby in the first Place I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and Maker Trusting for Salvation in and through the only merritts of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour and Redeemer And my body I Committ to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named And as to my Worldly Estate I give settle and dispose of the same as follows Imprimis I give devise and bequeath unto my Son William Paradise and his Heires All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances situate and being in Newberry aforesaid on the West side of a certain street there called Northbrooke street a Lane called Northcroft lane lying on the North side thereof and the Church lane lyeing on the South side thereof And also all houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Brewhouses Malthouses Kilnehouses Granaryes Woodhouses Stables Yards Backsides Wayes Easements and Comons Profitts Advantages and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said Messuage or Tenement belonging or in any wise appertaining or to or with the same or any part thereof held used or occupied or enjoyed Which said Messuage or Tenement and premises aforesaid are now in the occupation of the said William Paradise and of Mr James Head and Mr Oliver Slocock and alsoe All the Estate Right Title Power and Equity of Redemption whatsoever of me the said William Paradise of in or to the same premises or any part thereof To hold the said Messuage or Tenement and premises aforesaid with their Appurtenances unto my said Son William Paradise and his Heires In Trust nevertheless That my said Son William Paradise or his Heires Shall as soon as may be make sale of the said Messuage or Tenement and all and singular the premises aforesaid And the money thereby raised together with all such money as shall be raised and made of the Rents Issues and Profitts of the said premises until the Sale thereof (after payment and satisfaction of all such Principall money and Interst thereof for which the same premises are now mortgaged and Deduction for repairs Taxes and all other Charges incident to the said Estate and Trust) shall pay and dispose of in manner following (that is to say) Two seventh Parts of all such money to be raised as aforesaid (the whole in seven parts to be divided) unto my said Son William Paradise One other seventh part more thereof unto my Daughter Rachel Paradise One other seventh part more thereof unto my Daughter Winifred Wife of Mr William Lynch One other seventh part more thereof unto my Daughter Elizabeth Paradise One other seventh part more thereof unto my Son John Paradise and the other seventh part residue unto my Daughter Hannah Paradise Item All my Goods Chattells and Personall Estate whatsoever after my Debts (which are not secured by Mortgage) ffuneral Charges and Probate of my Will are paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto my said Children Rachel Winifred Elizabeth John and Hannah to be equally divided between them And I doe hereby make and appoint my said Son William Paradise sole Executor on Trust of this my last Will and Testament And in Testimony That this is my last Will and Testament I have hereunto sett my hand and seal the nine and twentieth day of May in the yeare of Our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and thirteen Will Paradise
