The Will of Richard Page

 

In the Name of God Amen the second day of March in the Yeare of our Lord One Thousand seaven hundred and Twenty Eight I Richard Page of Cranley in the County of Surrey husbandman being sick and weake of body but (thanks be to God) of a Perfect mind and memory and Understanding Doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) ffirst and chiefly I give my soule into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me Nothing doubting butt I shall receive the same againe in the Resurrection at the last day with remission for all my Sinns And my Body I recommend to the Earth to be decently buryed att the discretion of my Executors after named And as touching such Worldly Estate as the Lord hath bestowed on me I give devise and bequeath in manner and forme following Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Kinswoman Elizabeth ffleete wife of William ffleete of Lavant in Sussex two hundred pounds of lawfull money of Greate Brittaine to be paid to her within Six months after my decease by my Executors after named I give to my Kinswoman Mary Mackarell of Godleming in the County of Surrey and to my Kinsman William Mackarell and my Kinsman Timothy Mackarell of Godleming aforesaid Two hundred pounds a piece of lawfull money of Greate Brittaine after the decease of their mother (that is to say) that my Will and Pleasure is that my Sister Ann Mackarell shall have the interest of the six hundred pounds dureing her naturall life And afterwards to goe to them three Item I give and bequeath to the labouring men and widows that receive no Reliefe of the Parish to be paid them within three months after my decease the poore of Cranley ffive pounds Item I give and bequeath to William Richbell of Cranley one pound of lawfull money of Great Brittaine to be paid within Six months after my decease by my Executors after named And my will and pleasure is that if there shall happen to be any of the said money lost then they shall beare an equall part in the said losse And I doe make and ordaine my Kinsmen William Mackerell and Timothy Mackerell aforesaid full and whole Executors of this my last Will and Testament utterly annulling and disallowing of all other former Wills by me made confirming and ratifying this and none other to be my last Will and Testament Lastly I make and ordaine my well beloved friends Daniel Grinfield the Elder and John Mower both of Cranley trustees to this my last Will and Testament desireing them to aid and assist my Executors And if any difference shall arise between my said Executors and those I have given legacies to or any of them touching anything in this my will contained that the same be left to and finally settled and determined by my said Overseers for which I give them one Guinea apiece of lawfull money of Great Brittaine over and above all their Cost and charge to be paid by my Executors aforesaid In Wittness whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written the marke of Richard Page signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Richard Page as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us Jno Mower Martha Grinfield Richd Worsfold
