The Will of Henry Page

 

In the Name of God Amen I Henry Page of the Hamlet of Wormly in the Parish of Harrow in the County of Middlesex Husbandman being of sound Mind Memory and understanding Praised be God but being weak in Body Do Constitute Nominate and Appoint this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following I give devise and bequeath All that my ffreehold Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances now in the Occupation of George Golder together with one hundred Pounds in the three Per Cent Consolidated Annuities unto Simon Howard and John Burch And to the Survivor of them In Trust to sell and dispose of the said Tenement and the said Annuity immediately after my decease for the most Money that can be had and gotten for the same And the Money arising by such Sales I will Order and Direct And I hereby give and bequeath out of the said Money unto my Nephew Stuart Basst and ......the sum of thirty Pounds of lawful Money and after having paid the said Legacy I give and bequeath one full Moiety or half part of the Remainder of the Money arising from the aforesaid Sale to my Daughter Elizabeth Colvill to be paid into her own Hands and her Receipt alone shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my Executors as I give her the same for her own private sole and separate use and not to be subject to the Debts Controul or Engagement of her present or any after taken Husband I give and bequeath the other  full Moiety or half part of the said Money (after the Payment of the said thirty Pounds) unto my two Grand children the Issue of the said Simon Howard And I do direct that the Moiety be paid into the Hands of their ffather for their use and benefit and his Receipt shall be a sufficient discharge. And all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever I Give and bequeath to my said Daughter and my said Grand Children that is to say to my said Grand Children to be received by the said ffather for their use and benefit and I do order and direct that the said Legacys be paid respectively within three Calendar Months after my decease And I do Nominate and Appoint the said Simon Howard and John Burch to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills In Witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my Hand and Seal this tenth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three _ Henry Page
