In the Name of God Amen I William Owen of
the Town of Shrewsbury in the County of Salop but now living in
the Parish of Saint Mary’s Rotherhithe in the County of Surry
duly considering the uncertainty of life and the certainty of
death do make this my last Will and Testament I give to my
Nephew John Owen the Son of my deceased Brother John Owen late
of Raven Street Shrewsbury Hair Dresser who is now residing in
Nottingham by trade an Upholsterer three thousand seven hundred
Pounds in the New four Per cents and fifteen Pounds a year in
the Long Annuities both Stocks in the Bank of England the former
Stock stands in my name for High Street Rotherhithe Gent and the
long Annuities stands in my name King Street Westminster Gent I
give and bequeath to my Niece Susan Grub of No 13 Edward Street
New Blackfriars Road all my ffurniture Wearing Apparel Books
China Glass and Plate and what money should be in the House at
my decease after Paying my ffuneral expences and debts which
may be due and making a compliment to the Nurse that attended me
in my illness And I do appoint my Nephew John Owen aforesaid
sole Executor to this my last Will and Testament as witness my
hand the first day of November in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and twenty four W Owen _ Witnesses
