The Will of James Ouvry

 

In the Name of God Amen I James Ouvry of the Parish of Saint John Hackney in the County of Middlesex Gentleman being by the Grace of God of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory Do make and Declare my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say, First and Principally I commend my Soul to Almighty God my Creator hoping through the Merits of my Saviour Jesus Christ to obtain remission of all my Sins and life Everlasting And my Body I commit to the Earth to be Decently Interred at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as to my Temporal estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me and which Shall belong unto me at the time of my decease I Dispose thereof as followeth that is to say I Will that all my Just Debts and ffuneral charges Shall be paid and satisfyed And I hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint my Dear Wife Anne Ouvry my friend Mr Abraham Delamare and my Son James Ouvry to be Executors of this my will to each of whom I Give and bequeath the Sum of ffifty pounds for their Trouble in the Execution hereof Item I Give and bequeath the Sum of One thousand pounds East India Annuities unto my Son James Ouvry Item I Give and bequeath the Sum of One thousand pounds East India Annuities unto my Daughter Elizabeth Ouvry Item I Give and bequeath a like Sum of One thousand pounds East India Annuities unto my Daughter Mary Ouvry Ouvry Item I Give and bequeath the Sum of One thousand pounds East India Annuities unto my Grand Children Charles Ouvry Mary Ouvry Elizabeth Ouvry and Lydia Ouvry the children of my late Son Abraham Ouvry to be Equally divided Between them or the Survivors or Survivor of them as they Shall Attain the Age of Twenty one Years and during the Minority of my said Grand Children or any of them I Will and Order that the Interest of the Share of such Minor or Minors Shall be Applyed to the Maintenance and Education of such Minor or Minors respectively until he she or they shall Attain the Age of Twenty one Years Item I Give and bequeath to my Executors hereinbefore named the Sum of One thousand pounds East India Annuities In Trust to and for the uses following (that is to say) In Trust to pay the Interest thereof unto my Son Stephen Ouvry during the Term of his Natural Life and after his Decease then In Trust to Transfer and Divide the said One thousand pounds Annuities Equally to and among my said children and the respective lawful Issue of such of them as may be then Dead Share and Share alike reckoning the Child or children of each of my said Child or children as may be then Dead for one share Item I Give and bequeath to my Grandson James Ouvry the Sum of One hundred pounds which I Order Shall be paid to his ffather to be by him Employed in putting him out Apprentice or in such other manner for his use as his said ffather shall think proper Item I Give and bequeath to my Nephew James Ouvry the Sum of ffifty Pounds Item I Give and bequeath to my Nephews and Neices Isaac Ouvry Martha North Elizabeth her Sister Mary Inglebird and Martha Omfray ffive pounds a piece Item I Give and Bequeath the Sum of ffifty Pounds to the Deacons for the time being of the ffrench Church in Thread Needle Street London for the use of the Poor of the said Church Item I Give and Bequeath the Sum of ffifty Pounds to the Elders and Deacons of the ffrench Church at Canterbury for the use of the Poor of the said church Item I Give and Bequeath the Sum of ffifty Pounds to the Elders of the ffrench Church in Browns Lane Spitalfields commonly called la Palente for the use of the Poor of the said Church Item I Give and bequeath to my Daughter in Law Mary Ouvry the Sum of Twnety five And all the Rest and Residue of my Estate and Effects Household Goods Plate and Linnen whatsoever I Give Devise and bequeath to my said Dear Wife Ann Ouvry to Enjoy and Dispose of the same at her own ffree Will and Pleasure And I do hereby Revoke Annul and make Void all former Wills Codicils and Testamentary dispositions whatsoever by me made Signed or Executed In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Thirteenth Day of April In the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty nine James Ouvry
