God Amen I Thomas Otway of the
Parish of South Shelled in the
County of Durham Mariner now
belonging to his Majesty’s Ship
Suffolk being of sound and disposing
Mind and Memory do hereby make this
my last Will and Testament ffirst
and Principally I commend my Soul
into the Hands of Almighty God
hoping for the Remission of all my
Sins through the Merits of Jesus
Christ my blessed Saviour and my
Body to the Earth or Sea as it shall
please God And for such Worldly
Estate and Effects which I shall be
possessed of or intitled to at the
time of my Decease I give and
bequeath the same as followeth that
is to say unto my loving Wife Rachal
Otway of the said Parsih of South
Sheiles my Debts and ffuneral
Charges being first duly paid and
discharged I give and bequeath all
my Wages Bounty Money Price Money
and all other Sum and Sums of Money
Debts Dues and Demands Good Chattels
and Effects whatsoever belonging
unto me at the time of my Decease
And I do hereby nominate constitute
and appoint my said Wife Rachal
Otway sole Executor of this my last
Will and Testament And I do give and
bequeath unto my said Executor all
the rest and residue of my Estate
whatsoever both real and personal
revoking and making void all other
and former Wills by me heretofore
made and do declare this to be my
last Will and Testament In Witness
whereof I have hereunto set my Hand
and Seal this twenty eighth Day of
June one thousand seven hundred and
forty and in the thirteenth year of
the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
