The Will of Daniel Ockley

 

In the Name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me Daniel Ockley of Brookham in the Parish of Betchworth in the County of Surrey who being of sound mind and understanding and considering the uncertainty of life do on this tenth day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen make this my last Will and Testament In the first place I do will and believe to my dear wife Barbara all my Copyhold and ffreehold Property situate in the above Parish Also all my household furniture Plate Linen Wearing Apparel and property of whatever description I may die possessed of for her own sole and absolute use and benefit so long as she may live and it is my particular wish and desire that my daughter Mary Ann do not in any way molest or disturb her Mother in the peaceable enjoyment thereof during her lifetime Secondly That after the decease of my dear Wife Barbara I do will and bequeath and do hereby direct that my Daughter Mary Ann do become possessed of all the aforesaid Copyhold and ffreehold Property ffurniture Plate Linen etc. of whatever description for her own sole use and benefit not to be subject to the controul or management of any husband that she may marry but to be entirely at her own will and disposal Thirdly But should it please God and in the event of my said Daughter dying before my dear Wife as aforesaid it is hereby willed and declared that the whole of the aforesaid property ffreehold Copyhold and Effects shall be entirely at the disposal of my said Wife without any let or hindrance from any Person or Persons whatsoever Lastly I do hereby appoint Mr James Holdsworth Butcher of the Parish of Betchworth in the County of Surrey aforesaid Executor to this my last Will and Testament having full confidence in him to see it fully and performed and being certain that he will assist my dear wife in the execution thereof In witness whereof I do hereby put my hand and seal this tenth day of October 1819 Daniel Ockley In witness to the above signing William Brown _ John Davy
