This is the last Will
and Testament of me John
Nye of Shipley in the
County of Sussex Yeoman
made this twenty eighth
Day of August in this
Year of our Lord 1771 as
follows (Viz) ffirst I
will order and direct
that all my just Debts
Legacys and ffuneral
Expences as also the
Probate of this my last
Will be fully paid and
satisfied by my Executor
hereinafter named and I
do hereby charge and
make chargeable all and
singular my Messuages or
Tenements ...... Lands
and Premises and also
all my Personal Estate
whatsoever and
wheresoever with the
Payment thereof and
every part thereof and
so charged and
chargeable I hereby give
devise and bequeath the
same and every part
thereof unto my son
Soloman Nye to hold to
the said Soloman Nye his
Heirs Executors
Administrators and
Assigns absolutely and
for ever Item I give and
bequeath unto my dear
and loving Wife Jane the
sum of one hundred
Pounds to be paid to her
within twelve Months
next after my Decease
and also the Sum of Five
Pounds per Annum payable
quarterly during the
Term of her natural Life
Item I give and bequeath
to my Daughters Jane and
Hannah Nye the Sum of
five hundred Pounds to
be paid to them
respectively within
twelve Months next after
my Decease But my Mind
and Will is nevertheless
that in case either of
my said Daughters should
happen to depart this
Life before the said
Legacy should become due
and payable And Without
Issue lawfully begotten
that then and in such
case the Legacy shall go
to and be equally
divided between the
Survivor of them and my
said Son Solomon All
which said Legacy I do
hereby will order and
direct shall be paid to
the said several
Legatees within twelve
Months next after my
Decease by my Executor
herein after named And I
do hereby charge and
make chargeable all and
singular my said real
and Personal Estates
with the Payment thereof
and every part thereof
accordingly aforesaid
And Lastly I hereby
appoint my said Son
Solomon Nye sole
Executor of this my last
Will and Testament
hereby revoking and
making void all former
Wills by me at any time
heretofore made In
Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my Hand and
