The Will of Henry Novell
In the Name of God
Amen I Henry Novell of Wonersh in the County
of Surrey Yeoman Do make this my last Will
and Testament in manner and form following
(that is to say) ffirst I give devise and
bequeath unto my Brother Samuel Novell All
my Freehold and Copyhold Messuages or
Tenements Farms Lands Hereditaments and
Appurtenances Goods Chattells Rights Credits
Ready Money Real and Personal Estates
whatsoever and wheresoever as I shall be
seized and possessed of or intitles unto To
hold all and singular my Said Real and
Personal Estates unto my said Brother Samuel
Novell his Heirs Executors Administrators
and Assigns for ever yet nevertheless I do
hereby subject and charge my said Real and
Personal Estates with the payment of and my
Will and Meaning is that my said Brother
Samuel Novell his Heirs Executors and Admors
shall pay thereout all my just debts and
Funeral Expences and also the several Sums
or Legacies herein after mentioned (to wit)
unto my Brother John Novell the Sum of One
hundred pounds of lawful money of Great
Britain Also unto my Brother James Novell
the Sum of One hundred and ten pounds of
like money Also unto my sister Sarah Young
Widow the Sum of One hundred and ten pounds
of like money Also unto my sister Jane Wife
of Thomas Dudman the Sum of One hundred and
ten pounds of like money Also unto my sister
Elizabeth Wife of Charles Wakeford the Sum
of One hundred pounds of like money Also
unto my Niece Jane Novell (Daughter of my
Brother William Novell deceased) the Sum of
fifty pounds of like Money Also unto my
nephew John May the Sum of thirty pounds of
like money Also unto my niece Amy wife of
John Lee the Sum of thirty pounds of like
money Also unto my nephew Joseph Young (Son
of my said Sister Sarah Young) the Sum of
thirty pounds of like money Also unto all
the rest of the Children of my said Sister
Sarah Young the Sum of Twenty pounds a piece
of like money Also unto my late Servant
Martha Wife of John Quennell the Sum of
fifty pounds of like Money All which said
Sums or Legacies I will and direct shall be
paid by my Executor at the end of one year
and a half next after my decease Also I do
hereby make constitute and appoint my said
Brother Samuel Novell full and Sole Executor
of this my last Will and Testament and I do
hereby revoke all former Wills by me made In
Testimony where of I the said Henry Novell
have to this my last Will and Testament set
my hand and Seal the twenty second day of
April in the fourteenth year of the Reign of
King George the third over Great Britain and
soforth and in the year of Our Lord One
thousand seven hundred and seventy four The
