The Will of John Newport

 

June 9th 1778   In the name of God Amen   I  John Newport of Barrow in the county of Chester do make this my last Will and Testament First I will that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid. I give my estate in the parish of Barrow to my son John Newport together with my Land Estate in Swanlow in the Lordship of Over and County of Chester and all my goods and chattels to my son John Newport My Will and mind is that in case my son John Newport without any heir lawfully issuing that then the heirs of my daughter Frances Newport issuing shall have my estate in Swanlow my Will is that my daughter Frances Newport shall be kept of my Estate until she marry and then my son John Newport shall pay her three hundred pounds of lawful British money my Will and Mind is further that my son John Newport shall pay twenty pound a year to my wife Mary Newport for her natural Life and no longer I appoint my wife Mary Newport an Executrix and William Wooley of Bunbury and his heirs Executors of this my last Will and Testament My Will is if my son John Newport shall have no issue my wife Mary Newport shall hold her jointure and my daughter Frances Newport shall have my estate in Swanlow for her natural life and no longer anything before contained to the contrary notwithstanding   Signed and Sealed in the presence of Jeffery Cheers                                                              John Newport John Newport William Roberts     Probate form dated 26th March 1804                                 March 26th 1804 Mary Newport the Executrix in this will named was sworn in comon form (William Wooley the other Executor being before dead) Under £100                                                                              before me                                                                                                 Thos.
