The Will of Stephen Pullen New

This is the last Will and Testament of me Stephen Pullen New of Marlborough in the County of Wilts Draper I give devise and bequeath unto my two ffriends John Gundry of Marlborough aforesaid Cheese factor and Charles Gregory of the same place Haberdasher all that my ffreehold messuage or Tenement Garden and premises wherein I now reside situate in the Parish of Saint Peter and Saint Paul the Apostle Marlborough aforesaid and also all that my ffreehold messuage or Tenement and Inn called the Jolly Butcher situate in Marlborough aforesaid with the Yard Garden Stables and Premises thereto belonging to hold unto the said John Gundry and Charles Gregory and their heirs upon trust to receive and take the Rents and Profits of the said ffreehold Premises and to pay the same unto my dear wife Prudence New during her life if she shall so long continue my Widow and from and immediately after my death or second Marriage which shall first happen then In Trust as to the said two ffreehold Messuages or Tenements Inn and Premises for my Son William New his heirs and assigns for ever I give unto my said dear wife the Sum of ffifty Pounds to be paid to her immediately on my decease and I also give unto my said dear wife the use of all such my Household Goods and ffurniture not being Stock in Trade as she may select within three months next after my decease and I direct an Inventory of such Goods and ffurniture to be taken by my Executors and from and immediately after the decease of my said wife I give all such Household goods and ffurniture unto my son William New and my daughter Elizabeth the wife of John Westall I also give unto my said dear wife all my Stock of Wine Beer & Spirits I give and bequeath unto the said John Gundry and Charles Gregory all my shares in the Kennett and Avon Canal Navigation and also all my money in the Government Stocks or ffunds or money which may be placed out at Interest and due to me as Principal money at the time of my decease In Trust to receive the Dividends Interest or the Annual Produce thereof and to pay the same unto my dear wife Prudence during her life if she shall so long continue my Widow and from and immediately after her death or second Marriage which shall first happen In Trust as to the said Canal share money in the Stocks or ffunds and other Principal money for my son William New for his own use and benefit I give and bequeath unto my son William New all such of my Household Goods and ffurniture Goods Bedding Plate Linen China and Effects in and about my Dwellinghouse which my wife may not select for herself and I also give unto my said Son William New all my Stock in Trade as a Draper and also all my Book debts (not being Principal Sums due on securities or carrying Interest)I give unto my Son in Law John Westall the Sum of fforty Pounds in addition to the sum secured by his Marriage Settlement and I give to each of them the said John Gundry and Charles Morgan the Sum of ffive Guineas each and all residue of my Personal Estate I give unto my son William New for his own use and benefit but I do hereby declare that all the bequests hereby made to or for the benefit of my son William New are so made subject to the payment by him of all debts which may be due and owing from me at the time of my decease and also of the Legacies given by this my Will and of my ffuneral and Testamentary Expences and I nominate and appoint the said John Gundry and Charles Morgan Executors of this my will and Lastly I hereby revoke all former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I do hereto set my hand and Seal the twenty eighth day of October 1825 Stephen Pullen New
