The Will of Daniel Netlefold
In the name of God
Amen I Daniel Netlefold of Dorkinge in the
Countye of Surrey yeoman Beinge weake of
bodye and Sicke but of good and perfect
remembrance (thankes be given to Almightie
God)doe ordaine and make this my last will
and Testament in manner and forme followinge
ffirst I bequeath my Soule to Jesus Christ
my Redeemer by whose merritts alone I hope
to be found And my bodie to be buried after
the manner of Christian buryall in hope of a
joyfull resurrection accordinge to the
discretion of myne Executrix after in these
presents nominated And for the portion of
goodes and chattells which it hath pleased
God to bestowe upon me my will is that they
shall be bestowed whereas I promised my
Sonne Daniell to give him ffiftye pounds he
hath already receaved of me Seaven and
Twentie poundes of it And I give him Twentie
three poundes more to make up the ffifty
which I promised him The twentie three
poundes to be paid within five moneths next
after my Decease Item I give to my Sonne
John the elder the Sume of ffiftye poundes
of good and lawfull money of England To be
paid within five moneths after my decease
Item I give unto him more one Bedstead
Standinge in the parlor.... one flockbed
Lyeinge thereon Twoe bolsters twoe pillowes
one coverlett Twoe blanketts twoe paire of
Sheetes, and the furnace in the Kitchin Item
I give unto my Sonne Abraham the Sume of
ffiftye poundes of good and lawfull money of
England To be paid within Sixe moneths next
after my decease And whereas his mother gave
him one chest of Lynnen my will and meaninge
is that he shall enjoye it Item I give unto
my daughter Mary the Sume of ffifty Pounds
of good and lawfull money of England To be
paid within Sixe moneths next after my
decease I give unto my Sonne John the
younger the Sume of ffifty Pounds of good
and lawfull money of England To be paid when
he Shall accomplish the age of one and
twenty yeares Item I give unto my Sonne
Samwell the Sume of fforty Pounds of good
and lawfull money of England To be paid when
he Shall accomplish the age of one and
twenty yeares Item I give unto my Sonne
Samwell the Sume of fforty Pounds of good
and lawfull money of England To be paid When
he Shall accomplish the age of one and
twentie yeares If any of these my children
before mentioned doe dye before their
Legacies Doe become due The my Will and
meaninge is that the Survivor of them shall
equally have that portion or portions of the
partie or parties Soe dyeinge Item I give
unto my Sonne in Lawe John Stone one
Shillinge Item I give unto my grand child
Rebecca Daughter of John Stone one Shillinge
Item I give unto my grand child Mary
Cherrington one Shillinge Item I give unto
my grand child Mary Netlefold five Shillings
All the rest of my goodes and chattells my
debtes and Legacies paide and ffunerall
Expences discharged I give unto Mary my
Loveinge Wife whome I ordaine and make my
Whole and Sole Executrix of this my last
Will and Testament In wittnes whereof I have
hereunto Sett my hand and Seale Aprill the
25 in the yeare of our Lord 1659 And for my
Overseers I doe intreate my lovinge brother
John Netlefold and my Cosen Edward Round do
