The Will of John Neale

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Neale of Bury Court Love Lane Citizen and Blacksmith being of sound and disposing mind and memory (blessed be almighty God for the same) do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say Imprimis I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named And as to my Worldly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say) I give and bequeath to my Worthy friend Mr Richard Ellis of Bury Court Love Lane aforesaid his Executors and Administrators the sume of one Thousand pounds Upon this Special Trust and Confidence and to the Intent that he place the same out at Interest in Government or some other good Securities and the Proceeds thereof I desire may be paid to my two Sisters Mary Neale and Anne Neale both of the Parish of Grendon in the County of Northampton equally share and share alike by half yearly Payments for and during the term of their natural lives and the life of the longest liver of them and from and immediately after the death of both my said sisters It is my Will and mind that my said Trustee his Executors and Administrators do distribute and dispose of the said Principal sume of One Thousand pounds in manner following (that is to say) the sume of Two hundred pounds part thereof to Hannah Neale and ffrances Neale the two Daughters of my Brother Peter Neale to be divided between them equally share and share alike Provided they shall be living at such time as the said Two hundred pounds shall become due and payable otherwise my mind and will is that the whole sume of Two hundred pounds shall be paid to the Survivor of them Item I give and bequeath the sume of One hundred pounds after the death of my said Two Sisters to my neice Elizabeth Cherry Daughter of my Sister Elizabeth Downing her Executors and Admors Item I give and bequeath the farther sume of Seven hundred pounds being the Remainder of the said Principall sume of One Thousand Pounds after the death of my said two sisters to my neice Mary Pettit Daughter of my sister Millicent Hall her Executors and Administrators Item I give and bequeath to my Brother Peter Neale the sume of One hundred pounds to be paid him in six months after my decease Item I give and bequeath to my Sister Elizabeth Downing the sume of One hundred pounds to be paid her in six months after my decease Item I give and bequeath to my cousin Andrew Ugo who was late a Servant to the Right Honourable the Earl of Burlington Thirty pounds to be paid him in six months after my decease Item I give and bequeath to my Cousen Elizabeth Draydon of Moorfields London Widow the sume of thirty Pounds to be paid her in six Months after my decease Item I give and bequeath to the said Mr Richard Ellis the sume of fforty Pounds upon Condition that he take the charge and care upon him in the Execution of the Trust herein before reposed in him as and for a Gratuity for his Pains and trouble therein And all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Real and Personall Estate of what Kind or Quality soever and wheresoever I do give and bequeath to my said Neice Mary Pettit Daughter of my said sister Millicent Hall And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Neice Mary Pettit the whole and sole Executrix of this my Last Will hereby revoaking disannulling and making void all former and other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made And I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the eleventh day of January in the twelfth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britaine ffrance and Ireland King, Defender of the faith and so forth And in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and thirty eight John Neale
