In the name of God Amen the Twentieth daye
of July in the yearof o’r Lord god according to o’r English
Computation one thousand sixe hundred forty nyne I Robert Naylor
of Haddocke w’th in the p’ish of winwicke and county of Lanc’
being at this p’sent well and whole in body & of p’fect memory
praise be to god for the same doe ordaine and make this my Last
will and testament in manner and forme following, First and and
principally I committ my soule into the hands of Almighty god my
onely maker & redeemer in whome is all my trust to bee saved And
my body I bequeath to the Earth to bee buried att the
descreation of my freinds & Executors heareafter
named And for such outward estate as itt hath pleased god of his
goodnes to bestowe on mee in this life not onely my goods
Chattells & utensells but alsoe all & every my messuage lands
Tenements & hereditaments whatsoever satuate w’thin Haddock
aforesaid, itt is my mynd & will to give and dispose off in
manner and forme as heereafter followeth, Imprimis
it is mynd & will and I doe hereby give granit and assigne over
unto James Naylor my sonne all and every my said messuage lands
& tenements houses edifices & buildings w’th thappurtents
whatsoever lying & being in Haddocke aforesaid in the said
county of Lanc’ From and imediatly after my h’rall death &
decease, during the Continuance of the originale Indenture of
Lease concerninge the same: That p’te and p’con of the said
messuage and tenement already sett forth & alotted unto Margery
Naylor my mother for her maintenance & keeping onely excepted
dureing her n’rall liefe Ite’ itt is my mynde & will that if itt
fortune the said James Naylor........ and Margery Naylor my said
mother to decease before the lord of the p’misses shall have
attained to the age of one and Twenty yeares That then Robert
Hasldeine of Ashton in Makerfeild in the said county husbandman
George Lyon of Haddock aforesaid husbandman & Elenn Grymsworth
daughter of James Grymsworth late of Newton deceased shall & may
have hould & occupye all & every the said messuage & tenement in
manner & forme following, That is to say the moitye or equall
halfe p’te thereof to the said Robert Hasledeine & his assignes
of the moitye or other Halfe p’te there of to the said George
Lyon & Ellen Grymsworth the survivor of them his or her assignes
dureing the terme & soe long & untill the said lord of the
p’misses shall have accomplished the age of one and twenty
yeares Item it is my mynd & will that the said Robert Hasleden
imediatly after my death & decease shall come to inhabit & dwell
in the house wherein I now live: and shall take my sonne James
Naylor into his Tuission and keepeing And the said messuage &
Tenement & the p’fitts & issues thereof saveing such p’te &
p’con of the same as is ............. Margery my said mother
dureing her n’rall liefe excepted to bee imployed to and for the
use benefitt and behoof of the said James Naylor untill hee
shall attaine the age of one and Twenty yeares And concerneing
all & everye my said goods and Chattells whatsoever I give &
dispose of as hereafter followeth Imprimis I give &
bequeath unto the said Ellen Grymsworth the summe of Eleaven
pounds Ite’ I give to Anne now wiefe of William Taylor of
Golburne the summe of xxs Ite’ I give to Margaret
Hasleden daughter of the said Robert Hasleden the summe of xxs
Ite’ I give unto the Children of the said George Lyon the summe
of five pounds to bee equally devided mongst them Ite’ I give
unto Thurstone Howrobbin and Elizabeth his sister either of them
Twenty shillings Ite’ I give unto John Bate & Margery Roughley
either Ten shillings Ite’ I Give unto every Godchild the sum of
x........ Ite’ I give unto the chyldren of John Hill of Haddock
aforesaid the summ of Twenty shillings equally amongst them Ite’
I give unto the chyldren of Peeter Birchall Twenty shillings
amongst them Ite’ I give to William Peeterson Ten shillings
Ite’ I give to the chyldren of Anne Grymsworth the sum of Twenty
shillings equally amongst them Ite’ the rest and residue of all
my said goods & Chattells except the legacyes before men’coned I
give unto the said James Naylor my sonne Ite’ it is my mynd and
will that if itt happen the said James Naylor my sonne & Margery
Naylor my said mother to decease w’thin the space of two months
nexr comeing after the date hereof Then I give unto the p...
hereafter men’coned these legacyes following over & above those
before men’coned That is to saye unto the said Ellin Grymsworth
more, one Cowe, one Bed, one brasse pott & a pan if in case
shee doe recover her pr’sent sickness Ite’ I give unto John

either of them thirty shillings more & either of them a suite of
Apparrell Ite’ I give more unto Thurstone Howrobbin &
Eliza....... sister each of them Twenty shillings Ite’ I give
unto the said Peeter Berchall more one heffer w’ch he hath in
keepeing Ite’ I give more unto every Godchyld iiijs
Ite’ I give unto Thomas Jameson the summ’ of forty shilling And
I doe heereby Constitute ordaine & Make my said Mother Margery
Naylor & the said Robert Hasleden and George Lyon my Lawfull
Executors to execute this my last will and testament
according to the true intent and meaneing of the same as my
trust is in them And for the better strengthening &
corwborateing heereof I the said Robert Naylor have
heere unto put my hand & seale the daye & yeare before written
