The Will of Henry Munday

 

In the name of God Amen this Nineteenth day of September according to the Computation of the Church of England One Thousand Six Hundred Eighty Nine In the ffirst yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord and Lady William and Mary King and Queene of England Defenders of the ffaith I Henry Munday of the Parish of St Ann Blackfryers Cittizen and Cooke London being weake in Body and of sound perfect mind and memory doe make declare and publish this present last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) ffirst and principally I give and bequeathe my Soule to Almighty God trusting by the death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to receive pardon and remission for my sins and to Inheritt everlasting life and I comitt my body to the Earth to be buried in Christian Buriall in such decent manner as my Executor hereafter named shall think fitt and as touching such Temporall Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestowe on me I give and dispose thereof as followeth ffirst I will that all such debts sum and sums of money as shall appeare to be oweing by me to any person at my death and ffuneral expences to be first paid and satisfied out of the same Item I give and bequeath unto my true and faithfull servant Grissell Stocker the sum of ffive pounds Lawfull English money to be paid her by my Executors in three moneths after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my loving son Thomas Munday All that dwelling house, garden plot Barne and Stable with all and singular edifices or buildings erected thereon with the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in Plasty in the Parish of Westham and County of Essex and also doe further give and Bequeath unto my said sonn Thomas Munday the sum of ffifty pounds of lawfull English money to be paid him in Twelve Moneths after my decease by my said Executor if my said sonn Thomas Munday be then liveing and for default of yssue then the aforesaid garden plot Barne and Stable with all and all other the Buildings with their appurtenances at Plasty aforesaid together with the said sum of ffifty Pounds of like lawfull money unto my Welbeloved sonn Henry Munday and his heires for evermore Item the rest residue and remainder of all and singular my Lands Leases Tenements hereditaments goods Chattells Creditts moveables immoveables quick and dead of what nature or kind soever in my owne Possession power or Custody or in any Person or persons for me in Trust I further give and Bequeath unto my said well beloved son Henry Munday and his heires forever more And I doe make my said son Henry Munday full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament Revoaking all former and other Wills and Testaments and this onely to be Adjudged and taken for the same In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written Henry Munday Signed Sealed Published Declared and Delivered this to be the last Will and Testament of the said Henry Munday in the presence of us Thomas fflint Wm Collins Peter Harrison Senr
