In the name of God Amen I Edward Morriss
of Branston in the County of ye Citty of
Lincoln Yeoman being not well in body but of sound and perfect
memory (blessed be God for ye same) I do make and ordain this my
Last Will and Testament in manner and form following: Imprimis I
do give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my
heavenly father not trusting in my own merits but in his mercy
and though Jesus Christ my Redeemer for Justification and
Salvation and my body to ye Earth out of which it was formed
decently to be buried at ye discretion of my Executrix in hopes
of joyfull resurrection to Eternal life; And as for my worldly
estate which God hath graciously sent me I dispose of ye same as
is hereafter expressed
Imprimis I do give unto Edward Morriss my
Loving Son five pounds to be paid unto him at his age of one and
twenty years; Item I do give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Morriss
thirty pounds to be paid unto her at her age of one and Twenty
Years Item I do give unto my Daughter Elinor Morriss Thirty
pounds to be paid unto her at her age of one and twenty years;
Item I do give unto my Daughter Letticia Morris Thirty pounds to
be paid unto her at her age of one and twenty years; And my Will
is that if it so happen that any of my three said Daughters
should die before they Attain ye Age of one and twenty years
aforesd that ye sd? Legacies hereby given to Each of them shall
be paid to ye survivor or survivors equally betwixt them? when
she or they shall attain to ye age of one and twenty years as
aforesaid; And if it so happen that They shall all three die
before they attain ye sd Age I do give ye sd sums to my son
Edward Morriss; Item I do give unto my Dearest Loving Wife
Ellinor Morriss All my homestead Lands and premises whatsoever
belonging to my Lying and being in Heighinton and Whashingbrough
During ye minority of my sd son Edward Morriss for and towards
the bringing up of My sd Chilldren untill he my sd son attains
ye age of one and twenty years; And my Will is that there shall
be no deduction made out of their Legacies by my Executrix upon
that amount; Item I do give unto my Son Edward Morriss all my
Homestead Lands and premises lying and being in Heighington and
Whashinbrough aforesaid when he shall attain ye Age of one and
Twenty years to him and his Heirs for ever he or his assigns
paying yearly to my well beloved Wife his mother and for every
year during her natural life ye sums of seven pounds a year at
two equall
payments half yearly for ye true performed
of ye same and my Will is that
Further my Will is that if my sd son
Edward Morriss die without any issue lawfully begotten then I do
give all my aforesd Lands to my three Daughters aforesd and to
their heirs to be equally divided amongst them share and share
alike; Item all ye Rest of my Goods and Chattells Lands and
Tenemts whatsoever undisposed of my Debts first paid and
Funerall Expenses discharged I do give unto my Loving Wife
Ellinor Morriss whom I do hereby Constitute ordain and appoint
full and sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament
hereby Revoking all former and other Wills whatsoever by me made
and I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament this
one and twentieth day of FFebruary in ye year of our Lord
1713/12
