The Will of Nelly Morris
The last Will and Testament of me Nelly Morris of
Holcut in the County of Bedford Widow I give unto my son James Morris my two
leasehold cottages and premises situate at Salford in the said County and
the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds sterling and all such sum and sums
of money as he may be indebted to me at the time of my decease all such
bequests to be set off in account against all claims and demands (if any) my
said son may have against me or my estate at the time of my decease I give
to my sons John Morris and William Morris and to my daughters Eleanor Nash
Widow Mary Bird Widow and Ann the Wife of Joseph Norris the sum of two
hundred pounds each and to my grandchildren John Readman William Readman
James Benjamin Readman Charlotte the Wife of James Price Coles Henry Readman
Eliza Readman and Charles Readman the sum of fifty pounds each and I direct
the legacy to the said Eliza Readman be paid to her at the age of twenty one
years or on the day of her marriage which shall first happen and the legacy
to the said Charles Readman to be paid to him on his attaining the age of
twenty one years with interest for the same legacies respectively which I
direct to be accumulated in the meantime but if the said Elizabeth Readman
or Charles Readman shall die before their respective legacies become payable
then the legacy given to the one so dying shall be go and belong to the
survivor of them his or her executors or administrators I give unto my said
Son John Morris and to William Harland of Woburn in the said County of
Bedford Stationer my Executors hereinafter named all my household furniture
the sum of three hundred and fifty pounds due to me from my said Son John
Morris and for which I hold his promissory Notes and all other my Personal
estate upon trust that they or the survivor of them do and shall as soon as
conveniently may be after my decease sell and convert into money all such
part thereof as shall not consist of money and collect get in and receive
all such part thereof as shall consist of money and do and shall stand
possessed of the monies to arise and be gotten in by the means aforesaid
upon trust after payment of my just debts and funeral and testamentary
expences and the legacies hereinbefore bequeathed to pay and divide the same
equally between and amongst my said John Morris and William Morris and to my
daughters Eleanor Nash Mary Bird and Ann Norris my said Grandchildren my
said grandchildren nevertheless taking one share only amongst them and I
declare that my said trustees and executors shall always be allowed their
costs and expences in the execution of the trusts aforesaid and shall not be
answerable for more than they shall receive and possess and each only his
own receipts payments and acts notwithstanding their or either of their
joining in receipts for conformity sake and not for any loss or injury not
occasioned by their wilful act or default and I appoint my said son John
Morris and the said William Harland Executors of this my Will hereby
revoking all former Wills made by me In Witness whereof I ahve hereunto set
my hand this thirtieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and thirty seven _ Nelley Morris
