The Will of Edward Morris

 

In the Name of God Amen, I Edward Morris of Potter Hanworth in the County of Lincoln Being Weak in Body But of Sound and Perfect Mind and Memory do make and Publish this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Form Following

I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughters Ann Morris, Catherine Morris and Susanna Morris the Sum of Three hundred Pounds a Piece to be Paid by my Executors and Executrix hereafter named within Three Years after my Decease and to Pay them 4 pounds per cent until they be Paid

Whereas I Gave my Daughter Eleanor Dawson Two hundred Pounds upon er Marriage I Give her One hundred Pounds to make her Equal with her Sisters to be Paid within Three Years after my Decease and to have Four Pounds per cent Intrest until Paid

I Give my Son Brown Morris and his Heirs forever the Farm I have in Potter Hanworth aforesaid called Pottertons Farm no in the Tenure of One Scarlett and also One Cottage in Potter Hanworth aforesaid now in the Tenure of John Robinson

I Give my Son Stephen Morris and his Heirs for ever all that Moiety of the Estate I have at Barlings in the County of Lincoln aforesaid he Paying One hundred and Fifty Pounds towards Paying my Debts and Legacys I also Give my Said Son Stephen Morris the Silver Tankard that was by Unkle John Brown’s

I Give to John Talks the Sum of Five Pounds

I Give to the Poor of Branston and Heighington One Guineah Each

I Give to my Sister Elizabeth Talks Forty Shillings a Year for her Life

I Give to the Poor of Potter Hanworth Ten Shillings a Year for Ten Years

And lastly as to all the Rest, Residue and Remainder of my Personal Estate, Goods and Chattels of what Kind and Nature Soever, I Give and Bequeath to my Sons Brown Morris, Stephen Morris, and my Beloved Wife Catherine Morris, after Paying my Debts and Legacies, whom I hereby make Executors and Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal This Seventh Day of February in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Fifty Eight
