The Will of Mathew Moore

 

In the name of God Amen. I Mathew Moore of Eals in the Parish of Knarsdale and in the County of Northumberland, Husbandman being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following - Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my dear brother John the sum of forty pounds sterling. Item I give and bequeath unto my dear brother Jacob the sum of forty pounds sterling. Item I give and bequeath unto my late dear sister’s Ann’s children the sum of forty pounds sterling to be equally divided amongst them and as for and concerning all and singular and the rest residue and remainder of my effects of what Nature or kind soever and whosesoever the same now are or shall be at the time of my decease I give and bequeath the same and every part there of unto my dear brother Joseph his Heirs? Executors Administrators and ???? Respectfully and I hereby constitute and appoint my said brother Joseph sole Executor of this my Will and Testament and I hereby revoke and make void all former Will and Testament by me at any time hereto fore made. In Witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety One.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the afore named Mathew Moore the Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament, in the presence of us who have here unto subscribed our names in his presence and at his request in the presence of each other

On the sixteenth day of June One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety One the Rev Joseph Thompson one of the subscribing witnesses to the within written will was duly sworn to the truth and due Execution there in named was also sworn to the truth there of and well and faithfully to execute and perform the same and two administer as usual And that the Personal Estate of the said deceased with the Diocese of Durham does not amount in value to the sum of £300 Before me
