The Will of John Moore

 

In the name of God Almighty The Sixteenth day of September, in the twelfth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God over great Brittain, France and Ireland King defender of the faith ?? And in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy Two. I John Moore of Eals Town Foot in the Parish of Knarsdale and in the County of Northumberland, Yeoman being sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God Almighty, therefore do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, That is to say, First of all I give and recommend my soul into the Hands of my heavenly God who gave it, and my body to the ground to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named.. And for the settling of my Temporol Estate, and such Goods, Chattels and Debts, as it, hath pleased God to bestall upon me. I do order, give and dispose of the same in manner and form following (that is to say) Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my loving son John Moore the younger of Longdyke head in the parish of Knarsdale, the sum of twenty pounds of lawful money of great Brittain - Item, I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Moore mow Miner in Killip, the sum of twenty ponds - Item, I give and bequeath to my Grandchild Ann parker the like sum of twenty pounds to be paid to her as soon as she attains the age twenty one - item I give and bequeath to William Parker of Knowhead the sum of five shilling-all of which sums of money are to be duly and faithfully paid by my Executors hereafter named - Item I give unto my dearly beloved wife Mary Moore, to my loving son Joseph Moore, and my loving son Matthew Moore, the residue and remainder of all my money debts owing to me and chattells. I whatsoever else is in my possession share and share alike, whom I do hereby make and ordain sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke and disannul all other former wills, legacies and Bequests before this time named willed and bequested, satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In witness where I here unto set my hand and seal the Day and Year above witness.
